Honestly we played Scribblenauts or at least saw screen shots, and wow Warner Brothers made it go smooth.Real smooth, What do you thank about it,because the reviews weren't so good.Psplastic
I thought the reviews were pretty accurate. The gameplay is great if you have a good enough imagination. The controls are a little annoying at times, but not game-breaking.
i dont know why people keep saying the reviews arent good. an 8.0 is a good review, its just not GOTY worthy, and i agree with it. im very much enjoying the game, despite its flaws, but i wouldnt say its my favorite ds game ever.
Said it before, but I'll say it again. The game is ok, you won't play it for long before it starts wear on you, the funnest part for me has just been showing it to people and making every noun they think of come alive in the screen.Will47Lik GOD VS. kraken that one gets me alot.
I bought a DS especially for this game (well ok, I wanted another gadget anyway) and I was counting down the days til its release. I have 10 hours a week commuting, so this game is perfect for me.
I thought the whole design of the game is very good. As someone said, the controls are a little frustrating, but I can overlook that. Its a satisfying portable game for sure. Not GOTY material (reserved for Batman anyway), but still a very original game, which makes a change these days.
To scribble or not to scribble, that is the question. I might pick it up one day if it hits the bargain bin.
Bigboi500
I'll wait until it hits the bargin bin too. The epic Henry Hatsworth in the great puzzling adventure came out in March and and it's price dropped by July. I'm going to have 80 games by the end of next week, so I think I can wait it out.
The only bad things I heard about it were it's controls and the fact that the game didn't really push you that hard to be creative.:(
Other than that, if you can get passed those two obstacles, I think you're lookin' at a really fun game. I haven't tried it myself, but I'm just sayin' what I've heard from others.:)
[QUOTE="penumbra13"]My vampire turned god into a vampire. Nuff said.Mogotoo
I am so trying that out!
I don't see what's so bad about the controls; it's like LoZ: PH. My one big complaint is the shortness of levels.
Another cool thing is that ninjas and pirates will always fight each other.

well xactly1 I men't plenty of people say it gets really old which indeed it doesPsplastic
I agree. You end up seeing the limitations with the scribblenaut formula. I hate levels where I have to use rope to drag things/people/animals around.
The game is fun, but playing for too long (at times even half an hour) makes the game feel a bit tedious. In short bursts or having people to pass the game around with makes it really shine though. I can live with the controls, they can be annoying and at worst Maxwell/Avatar will be running around like an idiot when you need him to stay still, but I can live with them.
What I don't like is how I can keep on falling back on the same words over and over. The times when I solve a puzzle in a really creative way is a lot of fun but those times don't come so often. I'm sure i could force those moments to come for every level but I'm not a person who likes to make the game difficult by putting up fake boundaries for myself. Still...it's a nice and creative game that needs to be enjoyed in very small sessions.

which is what really makes handheld game great. Handheld games shouldn't be played hours at a time, they're best in short bursts.
