Now that i have your attention, does anyone know much about this game. I have heard it's going to be based around these two game franchises.

I am assuming it's going to be Professor Layton throwing riddles at Phoenix Wright while here is constantly shouting objection

What do you remember about Ace Attourney besides the internet meme? I bet you didn't even remember it was called that.

Don't doubt that this will be released in our language. You look at the numbers and more than half of Layton sales are from Europe, so Level 5 would not be smart to keep it in Japan. Then again, they apparently weren't smart enough to not release White Knight Chronicles in an unplayable state.

This because of licensing issues.

No. Because a game like this takes a huge amount of time to be localized. Look at the main Professor Layton games, it took Nintendo 2 years to do it.

We've gotten the Professor Layton games a year apart. Professor Layton And The Curious Village came out in 2008 we've gotten all the sequels the following year which I think is a good pace. On topic. I don't think we'll get this game but who knows maybe Level-5 will push Capcpm for a stateside release.

It's pointless to follow Japanese release dates. It's common for the West to get games much later then Japan. Since they started bringing over the games in 2008 that's what is more important.

It isn't pointless to discuss the Japanese release dates. Getting the games so long after Japan shows how much time and effort it takes to localized a game. Just because we got the goes in quick succession doesn't mean we will get the next one right away. These games are extremely text heavy which adds to the amount of effort it takes to localized them.

Sure but how much text heavy a game is isn't the only factor as to why a game isn't released for a period of time after it's inital Japanese release. They are text heavy but considering how quickly the sequels came out, that wasn't too much of an issue in the case of the DS games.

Just because the sequels came out shortly after each other doesn't mean they weren't worked on for a long time. Each one took 1-2 years to localize after being released in Japan.

I'm not sure if they are releasing this game outside the afterlife. (Canada jokes FTW)
