You definetly, without a shout of a doubt, need to get the first one first. I know many people who disliked the phoenix wright's because they started with the sencond one first and weren't familiar with any of the characters and plot twists. You must go with the first one then it'll be enough to justify Justice for All.
Get the first one! It has a really nice 5th case that makes use of the touch screen, and the soundtrack seems better than the second one (to me at least),
