PAL Games

If i buy a PAL version game from the UK can i play it on my Australian Wii as it is PAL too. I am looking to buy Zack And Wiki from Europe so i get it a month earlier in time for my birthday so if i buy it will it work since the are both PAL versions?

I think you have to worry more about the DVD region... UK is region 2, USA is region 1 and AUS is ?? I don't know.

Australia is Region 4 but that doesn't really matter just as long as it's a PAL game, Have fun :D

EDIT: I've seen some stores actually sell Europe games in Australia I got a Europe version of Golden Sun 1. I don't really know if this is legal to be selling games from other countries because at the back of Australian game boxes it says "FOR SALE AND USE IN AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND ONLY" but whatever. :D

I just emailed nintendo and this was their reply:

The Wii console is manufactured with a region code that allows it to play only those games sold in the same region as the system. Region codes are common to video game consoles, having been included in the Wii console and prior console systems, as well as those of our competitors.

Region coding is done for a variety of reasons. However, it's important to note that even if region coding had not been included, games from certain regions (i.e. Australia and Europe) still wouldn't have been compatible with U.S. or Japanese systems due to incompatible television signals.
