Official Pokemon Black 2/White 2 Discussion and Info Thread

Speaking of challenge, i'm loving the whole medals feature they added. I don't usually give a damn about trophies for my PS3 games but it might be fun trying to get all these medals. However, i'm noticing a lot of medals that involve things like Fes Missions, Join Avenue, etc. Don't we need to connect with other games for those features? :|

I don't even have that many Streetpass Tags on my 3DS and I get quite a lot of those every school day on campus.

I honestly didn't like the whole Entralink thing in BW and I was kinda mad they decided to add even more local wireless stuff like it in B2W2. It's kinda why I was hoping "Gray" would be a 3DS game so that it could at least support streetpass. I don't think anyone outside Japan is going to get that medal or even come close. :P

The new Unova pokedex entries have been translated, and some of them are... dreadful. :?

Scolipede: It grips prey with the claws on its neck, and after restricting its movement, injects it with deadly poison to finish the job.

Yamask: The soul of a person who was buried in a tomb transformed into a Pokemon. It retains its memories from before it died.

Cof@grigus: It takes grave robbers who draw near, mistaking it for a real coffin, and locks them inside its body.

Gothorita: There are many accounts of it controlling and playing with sleeping children on nights when the starlight shines.

Gothitelle: It reads the future from the movement of the stars. A Gothitelle that found out its Trainer's lifespan will scream and mourn.

Frillish: It wraps prey in its bell-like arms, paralyzes it, and kills it by carrying it to the ocean floor, 8000 meters below.

Klang: It split into a mini gear and huge gear. If the mini gear is hurled as an attack but doesn't return, it dies.

Lampent: It sucks up souls to stoke its flame. It hangs around in hospitals waiting for people to die.

Heatmor: It converts the air taken in through its tail into flames, then uses them like a tongue to melt Durant and eat them. [/spoiler]

The more I read about the World Tournament, the more excited I get. :)

Looks like there will be triple and rotation battles available. I was pretty disappointed they didn't include those in the Battle Subway. There weren't too many of them in-game either.

Also nice to see rental Pokemon available. I liked the Battle Factory since you could try out different Pokemon you might not even consider training.

I cringed when I saw this English trailer. :?

It feels odd not hearing it in Japanese.

The more I read about the World Tournament, the more excited I get. :)

The Japanese Nintendo Direct mentioned something about an online world tournament on June 29th, but that's tomorrow and I have not seen an online option yet. Hmm... Maybe there was a mistranslation? :?

Pretty well. I just made it to Nimbasa city.

I haven't had as much time to play it as I'd like. They decided to hold it at their shipping center for the weekend even though I drove to the Fedex store and told them I'd even be willing to go pick it up myself, and I haven't had a day off since I got it. :( Then after my one day off tomorrow I have a five day streak of eight hour shifts. :cry:

Apparently not. We had a discussion about it earlier.

It seems that the Assist/Challenge keys are tied to a save file rather than the cartridge. You would need a second game with it unlocked, link it over to a a new game and play through that from scratch (or any point) on challenge mode.

It'd be nice to play through the whole thing with the trainers and gym leaders being stronger but it's not worth the hassle for me since I don't know who I could link with. At least by getting Black 2, I could at least play the post-game on challenge mode.

I'm somewhat glad that Fes Missions can be played alone, but I wish it supported online. Local Multiplayer is so uncommon compared to Japan. :(
