Nunchuck have a warranty?

I bought my wii about a month ago and just last night while playing a football game and using the nunchuck a little thing popped up on the screen saying please reconnect the nunchuck. After playing with it, trying to get it to work again i just decided to go back to the wii menu and just start over. When i did the nunchuck worked again for about 15 seconds and said the same thing. At this point i though it might have been the brand new remote that i just bought the day before but the problem persisted even when switching wimotes. After trying one last time it decided to work and i played it for about an hour with no problems.So I am just wondering if this was just a fluke or what? Has this happened to you guys at all? And ultimately i was wondering if anyone knows if nintendo has a warranty on the nunchuck that came with the system. Any help would be appreciated,
