Everybody knows Nintendo got the ball. Millions and millions Wii's are sold, mom's and wives around the globe gets into gaming, hardcore gamers are interested in innovative control mechanics (?!). Mom's and wives could play with Mii characters and after that move into hard stuff - VC games. HC gamers on the other hand asks where are the games, Wii sports doesn't last all that long.

We are used to see big franchises and great developers turn to the winner of the console war, but this time - all the interests of developers and console manufacturer does not match. Nintendo is interested into making cheap and interesting console that sells like bread, but developers dedicates only their second best teams (or whatever) to make some spin-offs (Crystal Chronicles, Umbrella Chronicles, DQ Swords etc.).

Should HC gamers feel cheated? Not if Nintendo makes some changes. Now it would be the time to use that power they got, to make a revolution they promised. I personally somehow see this situation as it was at the 80's. Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Sonic and so many more our loved characters and series was born at that time, when 8-bit consoles reigned.

Sonic was born as a rival for Mario and off-course, it turned out more than just a clone. If Wii would take it's place as a king after the successful revolution, we could see the beginning of a new chapter in the history of gaming.

The Wii got alot of spin-offs because developers weren't expecting it to sell so well. Software sales are improving, and devs are showing their liking towards the Wii now that they know it's successful. Monster Hunter and Fatal Frame series are moving to Wii rather than PS3, Square Enix said they're taking Wii and DS as their priority, and much more.

They're realising the potential of the Wii and it has a very bright future, all we need to do now is buy the good third party games and it's unstopable.

I am particularly interested in what Sega will do with Nintendo. Pay attention:

Look at everything they have done for the last generation and this generation. Almost every Sonic game that came out last generation sold best on GC that means there was more people interested in Sega in the 23+ million GC owners compared to the 100+ million PS2 owners. Many other Sega games were the same. This generation SOnic the Hedgehog for PS3 and 360 FLOPPED and then Sonic and the Secret Rings is going to sell one million units this year. Also SOnic and Mario has almost sold 3 million. Seriously where is Sega's support. not only is it courteous to us Wii fans who have actually supported their products but its also the most financially sound decision. Everything points to it.
