Hey everyone. I just found out the Nintendo 3ds is now going to be £219.99 for all massive game retailers.it was £229.99 before that. Also on play.com and amazon the Nintendo 3ds price is only £202 for the Uk price.

Its nice to save some money. But its not really that much of a saving.

The original price was the recommended rrp. Retailers don't have to sell it at that price if they don't want to. Maybe they are willing to take in less profits in order to sell it, hopefully making up for in software sales.

Too expensive, won't buy until it drops to under £150, or I can pick up a second hand one.

The point was Nintendo didn't set a recommended retail price in the EU, they left it up to the retailers, that's why the price is so high. Luckily they're seeing that it's too high and are lowering it.

I think I read somewhere they're selling them to shops at ~170 ish, so 200 is as low as they'll go for a while.

You can get one for 200 and some of the launch game are going to be 15 at some places instead of 30 so that's basically 185. Close enough?

I dunno, maybe. I'd definitely pay that down the road when there's more games I care about. Not sure about at launch though. But I'll be honest, a price like that does tempt me. Where can you get launch games for £15?

I just looked it up and it seems like the games site didn't word it very well, this is what it says on the Asda website "In store the offer is just as enticing. Buy the Nintendo 3DS for the amazing price of 217 and get any 3DS game for 15 when you collect your console during the first two days of the launch (25th and 26th March). The full software launch line up is still to be confirmed, with around 10 games expected on Day 1." So they're independant of each other. However, I'm starting to see tons more places selling the 3DS for 200 now, Amazon, Sainsburys and ShopTo all have/had it for that price. I definitely agree paying more than the Wii/the same as a 360 is a lot of money for a handheld, but I'm just too damn excited, and I knew if I didn't get a preorder down it'd be sold out for months.
