New Switch Model - Improved Battery Life

• The new model have a product serial number starting with “XKW” as opposed to “XAW” as listed on the “Compare Switch” page on Nintendo’s website. HERE
• The new HAC-001(-01) Switch models have a battery life of 4.5-9 hours compared to the original model’s 2.5-6.5 hours
• Units will appear in store shelves starting August in North America and September in Europe.
• The boxes for these new Units will also have a new Look
  
• In addition 2 New Set of Joycons have been announced (Sold Separately)
  

im interested to know if the original switch model will be discontinued? because this will be the same price so the hell would buy the old one for the same price?

It's why despite me enjoying the base Switch it hasn't seen as much play as it could have.

Been complaining about the Switch battery life for so long. Some games drain it roughly after an hour of use. Making it pretty useless on the train.

Plan to make the upgrade day-one.

This is very tempting. I'll probably make the upgrade.

@hrt_rulz01 even though it's going to be the same price for other countries, I guarantee here in Australia they'll add an extra $100 to the newer model. Just my opinion, but I reckon it'll happen.

Not trading my launch Switch in, but if we get a third Switch in the house will get the improved.

That'd be ridiculous if they did... no way I'd buy it then.
