Specs don't matter to me that much. I will be looking at the game lineup. We will probably get the Switch Day 1 no matter what because my kids are huge Nintendo fans, but I personally hope there is a Splatoon game at launch.

I want to see a price and I want confirmation that every game (at least the big ones) can be played with a Pro controller without motion controls.

I also want this to be my new Zelda system to replace my Gamecube (God rest its soul). That means I want to see Twilight Princess HD (physical copy with Wolf Link Amiibo) and all Zelda games before it on the NS in some fashion. If they can find a way to bring Skyward Sword to NS without motion controls I would pick that up as well.

If the price is $250-$300, I'll pick this up as the family Christmas gift this year.

I want to see more on the 3D Mario and the Nintendo staples like M. Kart, Smash Bros and maybe a new Star Fox Adventure game.

I won't be pre-ordering anyway, but I do want to find out what the confirmed launch line-up will be, as well as what other tricks the system has up its sleeve.

All of the above!

I want to see:

  • them actually play some games live (not just screencaptures/streams)... mostly to see how the controls handle
  • touch screen?
  • what added feature does the dock have?
  • specs
  • other mobile features?
  • them not address VR (because I'm behind and not down with it yet)
  • Miyamoto do something ridiculous
  • any other ports apart from Skyrim? 3rd party games?

I trust Nintendo with 1st party stuff.

I don't plan to pre-order it and will wait until Christmas. I hope there's no shortage which is always a problem with Nintendo. I'd like to see reviews for overall functionality, durability, comfort, more games etc...

Anyway... I'm very excited for it! It takes some discipline for me to not buy it at a whim. Gotta make sure I don't go to that bar next to Best Buy this summer.

I wish I can say the same.

Grandma/mom Merry Christmas! It's a Switch!

Son... you know I have arthritis in my hands and granny has glaucoma. And neither of us play video games.

So... all for me?

@flipin_jackass: Good insight. I think as long as you have Breath of the Wild, Splatoon, Smash, Mario Kart, Xenoblade X, Super Mario Maker, 3DS, etc...youll be able to wait it out.

Mom can watch Netflix and Granny can listen to music. Merry Switchmas!

Sadly, I have a feeling it's gonna be another Wii... as in it will be impossible to find for a while. I don't have the money to just pre-order so, I'm gonna wait...maybe a year or two. when the hype dies.

I won't be buying day one as I JUST started enjoying my WiiU. IF I do buy one eventually the only real determination will be third party support. Besides that I'll be buying it because of

Mario. Also most of Sega's games get released on Nintendo's platforms(who would've thought that 25 years back?).

I dont think will be as hard to get as Wii. Dont forget Nintendo was dealing with two surprise hot items with DS and Wii stuff. Now they can focus on just Switch. It will still be kinda hard for a bit, but they should have handle on things by Holidays.

Dont worry mate. Gamers will be playing a lot of them same Wii U games on Switch for first 2-3 years. Watch for that Zelda though, shell be a good one to grab and keep you company.

Very excited for the controllers and how they handle.

Yet I'm not pleased overall. Beginning with the launch line-up and Nintendo charging us to play online (I know Sony and Microsoft do this but still not a fan) Good reason I only payed PSN-Plus twice for Bloodborne and DkSIII. Will probably for a future Monster Hunter or Pokémon, otherwise I'll stick with local multiplayer_

New Mario looks amazing, yet_

find the estimate portable battery life pathetic for Switch.

2-6 hours (depending on game) Vs. the N3DS 3-8 hour (which only runs at three if you have the 3D on at all-times). What can you do if say; a Switch Monster Hunter comes out, in two hours? Not much. However, if an improved model comes along in the holidays? I'll just grab that. Two hours won't cut it for me. At heart I'm a portable gamer. I'd gladly pay Nintendo extra for a real portable version, I don't want a Gamegear :P

@RSM-HQ: Yeah, i agree with online. Im still buying...but i want to know price etc for online. Good thing its free for awhile, so ill have good ideal if worth it. Launch lineup is weak. So far i only have Zelda and Bomberman preordered. I want another game kinda like that 1, 2 Switch, but my brother and wife are getting it and we play party games and board games there.

Im happy, but i was wanting Nintendo to have something BIG for those who dont want Zelda if you know what i mean.

Are they claiming 6 hours of battery life? Isn't that better than the WiiU gamepad?

That's great! :D

@Cobra_nVidia: 2.5-6hrs+ which is actually pretty good compared to 3DS's 3-5hrs. Playing with 3D on and Wifi is insane on the battery for 3DS, i learnt from Metroid Federation Force playing online with 3D.

After last night's presentation, I'm not hyped for the system, but I am hyped for Zelda. Freak'n amazing looking. It has the pension potential to become my favorite in the series, overtaking Twilight Princess.

@Telekill: Its not, but it can be. But yeah, im talking games designed for motion. You could play House of Dead, etc without motion, but adding it makes it pretty fun. And you play whole game using motion, its not just for a certain part, etc like in Zelda.

I wish Zelda: Breath of Wild had full motion controls, but i dont think theyll let us.

@iandizion713: I agree. Zelda is a must but after buying a WiiU for Bayonetta 2. I don't want to dislike the Switch for only favoring one game, waiting for Mario, for me anyway, is the right call. At the holidays we'll have Kart8+, Splatoon 2, Zelda, and Mario. It's a win-win for gamers.

I'd be careful about Bomberman, don't remember the last time we saw a good BM game.

The one on 3DS was cancelled, and the one on PS4 and Wii was a rip-off. I think a DSi game exists; I'm not sure what that ones like_

The launch lineup is pretty pathetic after they hyped up this monumental launch year lineup. Over half the games are ports and remakes. Zelda looks amazing, but despite the lameness of the presentation (12 switch, Arms) and the lack of launch lineups.... i pre ordered. I had best buy credit i've been saving for 2 years, so that mostly covered the cost. The 2017 calendar looks lacking... but i think they are saving some bombs for E3. Specifically:

- Mario RPG game which has pretty much been confirmed

- Smash Bros - Deluxe

- Mario Maker - Deluxe

- Pikmin 4 (game was done last year?!?)

- Metroid confirmed to be in deveopment

- Pokemon which was supposed to be in 2017

- Retro new IP

I thought nintendo would drop Zelda/Mario at Launch for 250.... Then holiday they come out with Mario RPG/Pokemon, with Zelda/mario Switch bundles. I think they'd really move some units at that price point, but i can see why they would want Mario for the holidays.

Question folks?

It seems it is encouraged that every player have their own Switch tablet. Have they supplied information on how many Nintendo Accounts per unit? Nintendo will surely want players to sync their Nintendo Account with the Switch, but is it one account per tablet? There is information that players can charge or power the tablet while using in mobile mode, but Nintendo is not selling a tablet & charger only package. What do guys know about this?

Dont quote me on this, but i think around 12 accounts under one Network ID.

I know I'm a little late to reading up on stuff, but I am still excited about the Switch. I saw a lot of people complaining already on the news articles, and honestly I don't see why they are treating this system's launch as being any worse than any other system's launch. I mean heck, you can have one great game and four mediocre games at launch, or one good game, 8 mediocre ones, and 6 lousy ones - take your pick.

I don't really see where most people have all of this time to race through video games day one and get bored of them and need something else asap. But then, the people who do that are probably the same ones that mooch off of the system and collect all sorts of government assistance, and can't hold any sort of job for more than a couple of months.

Switch's line-up looks great, overall. Launch might not be OMGEEZEES, but then launches rarely are. All you need is one or two good games to start with. There are hiccups and weird things to concern people, like 1-2-Switch not being a pack-in title, but then it's really not much different than the PS4 and XBO not launching with a free game. Nintendo's doing every bit as good as the other guys, and speaking to my own personal preference I think they have the most appealing system on the market coming out now. 2017 will be a nice start. And anyway, it will probably be a year or two til I maybe pick one up - by then the Switch will have tons of great games.

@iandizion713: Most systems have crappy launches, its not strategy, that's just how it always seems to workout. Don't know why that is always the case, especially here, given that they jumped ship on Wii U awhile ago. Regardless they likely do have more in the pipeline, but they cant front load everything, I expect the Switch to have a good first two years from Nintendo. The question is what will the 3rd party bring to the table and that is solely dependent upon how the system sells through this year and its first holiday season.

I got a lot of my questions answered. BotW is looking fantastic. That trailer was awesome, and the few gameplay videos I've watched on Youtube look great.

Not a fan of the subscription for online. Then again, I usually only play single player games so that might not even affect me.

A bit pricey, hopefully they'll have a reasonably priced bundle by the holidays.

Regardless, I'm excited for it! I wish I could be part of the launch, but I have to save up, exams, stuff to do in the summer etc.. so I'll be a late to the party. :(

@The-Butcher248: After who hyped it up? The ones that were hyping people for this amazing, record setting launch were the rumor mills, not Nintendo. People should have known better than to listen to people like Eurogamer and Laura Dale, who were only interested in spreading rumors to generate traffic to their website and Twitter accounts. But yes I do agree that the lineup is weak, but launch lineups typically are and I expect to see them shooting cannonballs at E3.

@Sepewrath:

That crossed my mind too, with where I heard about the huge lineups of launch games. I could have sworn it was from Nintendo directly, maybe Reggie or the president... basically not releasing the switch in the holidays of 2016 because they wanted a robust launch lineup, and were willing to waiting for more games.

(Also in retrospect, arms doesn't look too bad, but not sure the world is ready for more motion controlled (non-vr) games yet.

I'm not too hyped for the system. I want to wait and see what support it's going to get. The last thing I want is to get another Nintendo system only to see developers support it for a couple months. Their presentation didn't do much to alleviate that concern. Maybe E3 will help change my mind. I'll probably get the Switch during the holidays in time for Mario. Zelda looks amazing and I already have the special edition preordered.

@The-Butcher248: What they said was they wanted to wait until they had a lineup of games to launch, what that really meant was they were waiting for Breath of the Wild to be finished. All that talk of a magical launch lineup came from the likes Laura Dale and other rumor mongers, which as expected turned out to be total bull.
