NDS problems Help!!!

Ok its not actually me but my cousin, for some unknown and stupid reason he removed the battery from his NDS Lite, this caused everythings to reset, but the real problem is that when he tries to set the Time and Date they won't save they just show up as 00/00/2000 and 00:00 on screen.

After the rest of settings are done you have to reset the DS for them to save but since those two settings won't save he just has to do everythings over again and it just continues like that.

PLEASE!!! help me and my cousin resolve this problem if u can and thanks.

Place the battery in set the time and leave the ds(dont play any games)for about 1 week then it will adjust.GreatSlayer980
