I lent my DSi to my brother for a looong time (About 3 months), and he lost it somewhere in his room. I just found it again, and now whenever I turn it on, it will shut off at random. I didn't really care much at first, because I was planning on upgrading to a 3DS anyway, but there's quite a few downloadable games on my DSi that I want to be able to transfer to my 3DS, but if my DSi shuts off in the middle of transfer (Which it most definitely will), I won't be able to transfer my DSiWare games.

Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Does it shut off when it's plugged it?

I've heard of this before, it's a problem with the power connection between the bottom and the top screen, caused by either a button or the hinge. If pushing a certain button repeatedly or shaking the unit causes it to be turned off, get it checked.
