Capcom confirmed to Gamereactor España that 3U servers will be separate.

"Japanese will play with Japanese, Americans with Americans and Europeans with Europeans."

This information was provided to Gamereactor by Capcom after their recent interview with Ryozo Tsujimoto. They will be running the full story later today.

Yuri L. Araujo,Capcom's community specialist says ""I'm not thrilled with the servers being split, either.I am definitely aware of the demand and feedback, not only in this thread, but also from threads before finding out these bad news; so be sure that I will pass it along. There is no guarantee this will change, though."

What an absolutely **** week for Nintendo this has turned out to be.

I'm going to be buying the game still, but it sucks that I won't be able to play with my friends who live outside of EU.

Thanks Capcom, thanks a lot.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo was the one to make this choice, since they're the ones who are hosting the servers, not Capcom.

It's strange really, since Nintendo never region lock their servers. So either this is one hell of a major cock up or Capcom/Nintendo want this game to die in EU/NA after all the advertising and hype they built up for it.

Not a big deal for me personally, but I still believe we should be able to play with everyone.

Gamers love to blow things out of proportion... I'm sure most people won't even notice this.

I'm kinda neutral on this. To anyone that has ever played an FPS, how annoying is it when the host is in another country? Very. Also since they put a bigger emphasis on communication in this MH, it almost makes sense that the servers are separate due to language barriers. I'm more annoyed that the 3DS version doesn't have online than I am with this. Especially since they admitted that they considered online and TRIED to implement it for 3DS, but ended up not doing it. -_-

This is great news for those of us that don't have blazing fast 100mb connections. Now we won't have to deal with lag from half a world away.

I don't have a problem with that. If they hadn't said so, I would not have noticed it. :P

That's not how online gaming works........

Back to the topic on hand

For the people who are doing damage control that's pathetic

This isn't a big game anywhere but Japan, everywhere else it's "meh" at best.

Taking the Japanese users out of this pool of players means you're down 50% right off the bat.

Also let's figure in it's mostly going to be kids playing this in the English speaking countries so then you factor in school (7-2pm) and bedtimes (considering the Wii U's demographic and national averages most Wii U owners have between 10-11pm bedtime) that small userbase of players becomes downright tiny on it's off peak hours.

The nice thing about online gaming is that you can play people around the world at 10am or midnight and find a lot of people who are playing. Different time zones mean that there's never an off peak time for people to be playing.

This is a critical mistake and it will be interesting to see what side is making it.

It's not like we're wanting to be able to play with everyone around the world, Japan having their own servers for most games out there is common. But with EU/NA on consoles servers are normally together so we can play with each other. The fact that Capcom are splitting the servers on a game that has a much, much small following compared to the likes of Japan and on a new console will probably guarenetee some very lonely times on either the EU or NA of the game.

If they don't agree to merging the servers, fine. I'll still be getting the game but it's going to have a bad taste in my mouth. My friends in the Americans are still disappointed since we were excited and spoke about how awesome it would be to finally play a Monster Hunter game on the console, online, without the need of using ad hoc party or setting up the horror that is Xlink Kai I guess dreams were meant to be broken.

The fact that Nintendo are allowing this to happen on their own servers is just as bad as Capcom even thinking that such an idea is acceptable in this day and age.

I'm not bothered by this. It does suck for those who wanted a worldwide online community (something that was never present in MH games), but it does prevent more confusion due to language barriers. Translating for the Spanish and French-speaking players in the Americas during a hunt is already tedious.

Why restrict it? I get their could be lag playing with people over seas, but at least give us the option to play with who ever we want even if they are over seas. Dumb move Capcom, but I see it as no biggie most people don't have Gaming friends over seas.

MH3 works this way. What's the problem? Why you want to play coop with regions you don't share a language with? I really think some people want to make a great deal of nothing these days
