(sorry if in wrong section)

Okay. i have been saving up for a long time working my butt off. I do ALL my chores and more then asked on time.

My Grades have been pretty good. Mostly A's and 2 B's

And i help alot, things that 14 yr olds today wont do. such as carrying in ALL the groceries.

Heck, i even payed 200$ OF MY OWN MONEY For my moms Galaxy Note 4 When her S3 was fine.

And i did get a Ps4 For Christmas in 2013. But i payed for online and most of my games.

I even Sold my Xbox 360 arcade and DSi. including all my games with it.

I sat down with my mother And had a "adult talk" She shutdown that conversation right when i said WiiU.

She just got up and left and i sat there amazed.

Help please. i feel like i wasted my money, On things she did not need. But she wont even let me Get something with my money.

BTW: I own these Gaming devices 3ds-PS4 (I Paid half for my 3ds even though it was a birthday gift)

@tehepic Its hard to help you mate. Your Mom knows you more than probably anybody else. Maybe she feels you are saving up for the wrong things? Is there something else she wants you to save up for? Are you spending all your money on just consoles and video games? Maybe opening up a savings account to put money aside for a rainy day will help ease her worries.

That's harsh, kid. Do she know that most of the time you play on the Wii U that you will be playing on the gamepad, so she can still watch tv? Maybe that is her concern. You earned the money. You should be able to buy the Wii U. You sound very generous helping your mom with her device of choice. As a retired teacher I think the Wii U and it's games are great learning experiences. Your mom may like to play too.

Just get one anyway, it's easier to ask for forgiveness.

That sucks. Well, buy it anyway I say. It's your money. It's nice that you're that obedient but... yeah, it's your money.

Sell the PS4 and replace it with a Wii U? Maybe that would help?

@tehepic: your mother happens to believe that a console so bad on the outside, she didn't even bother to know what it will do to keep you occupied..parenting in its worst, believing that your money will be in vain,do you have the skill to convince your mother? if I were you,I would just threaten her and speak out the potential.

when I had my birthday last year,my mother allowed me to use my own savings to buy a 3DS and a small collection of Wii games,I don't care if I am old,I will always enjoy the games and the consoles Ninty has to offer.

I'm usually on the parents side in these type of threads... but if everything you say is accurate I don't know what her deal is. Only thing I can think of is her being upset you aren't content with your Christmas gift? I don't even know why you had to ask her, when I was your age I was buying several of my own game consoles and never even considered asking my parents what I should spend my own money on.

You should see it from a parents perspective. They might not know the difference between a WiiU and PS4. She just thinks you throw out money for unnecessary things.

The only thing you could do is talk to her again and ask why she left. And might explain her the differences and why you want a WiiU.

Surely you could give more information on *why* she walked away?

@tehepic: Maybe you'd be in the store with your mom and be like "oh, look at that wii u" and stare at it

@tehepic:

I would attempt to talk about it. Rather than talk about the idea that you want it, ask why she doesn't want you to have it. It could be that she sees it as just another game system, which you have a similar device already, and she would rather see you save the money. I understand that they're obviously not the same, but that could be how she views it.

If you can't reach an understanding, let it go. Don't press the issue. Respect her wishes and move on. There is some nice software on Wii U, but it'll still be there down the road. With the eShop, that stuff isn't going anywhere.

Why did you pay for your moms Galaxy Note 4??? If your mom can't afford to buy her own phone and she is asking her jobless 14 year old son for money, then you shouldn't be talking about video games until your money situation is fixed. Sorry kid, you gotta get priorities straight. =/

I can see the problem, well kid your mom probably needs the money for benefits such as buying food. But all I could say is wait until the price becomes cheaper or try finding a job and get the switch instead.(Its all up to you).
