I'm a very happy gamer now, which should I play first? Logic tells me to go in order, but for those who have already played them perhaps you think different.

Also, any tips, or anything to say to aid me lol.

Thanks.

Go with FF4. It's one of the most popular RPGs ever made and not for no reason. I didn't play the DS remake yet, but i imagine it must look great with 3D graphics.

As to FF3, i didnt play it yet but its not nearly as famous as FF4 and is only a remake of a NES games. Im guessing the gamplay must be much more dense and the storyline much simpler.

Don't worry about the order, every FF has a new story so you can pick it up in any game.

I own both and it really does not matter. What G-Man says is absolutely correct though: FFIII's gameplay is dense and less story oriented. It is also a very difficult game. You have to one-shot dungeons because there are no save points inside. -_-

I'd say go through FFIII first and then IV. It'll be a good way to see how the series progressed in story telling, gameplay and audio. Of course both games feature some well orchestrated tracks, the amount of tracks you hear in IV will be a lot more compared to III.

to be honest neither of the stories were really anything serious. i enjoyed both but i already played FFIV on the gba so the second time through wasn't really worth it even if it was 3D and harder. go with FF III since its dead cheap now

Play IV first. And then go get Chrono Trigger, TWEWY, Dragon Quest, Partners in Time, Disgaea, Etrian Odyssey, Etrian Odyssey II; and then, if you have absolutely nothing to do, play III.

I agree with WAIW's idea but I think is is missing a few games. He is missing Rondo of Swords, Izuna Legend of the unemployed ninja, and Izuna 2.

Final Fantasy 3 was actually a very good game, not too difficult if you level accordingly, and despite the simple story it was really fun and satisfying to beat

I'd say play in order, even though the FF stories aren't interrelated in anyway (not counting Tactics or spinoffs)

Id say go in order. They are both great games. FFIV has a better story and characters where FFIII has a fun job system.

Final Fantasy IV was an amazing game. FFIII was alright but IV is where the meat is. It's truly an amazing game. It has even withstood the test of time. I might go with FFIII first just so can play it because after FFIV you won't want to touch FFIII.

Okay so I started IV.

Minor spoilers while I tell you my frustration.

I got all the wy to where I saved the kid by taking her to the inn, and then trained outside for a while. I did the 'quick save', came back, and played more. THEN I DIED AND IT MADE ME START OVER.

That was like.. 3 hours because of training. Im heart broken.
