Hope he gets better, but honestly with him not being there I see this as a plus.

I wonder if this means he just won't be present in LA, or that he won't have any part in the digital event.
@Chozofication: They might have recorded his bits already with the white background in Japan already...he can do stuff still in Japan, just cant travel by plane. Although with all the stress he has had from gamers, investors, analysts and so forth this was bound to happen. If only he had listened to the fans from the start of the Wii U.
As much as I despise this man as CEO and want him replaced, I wish no one harm. If he's still able to work though, it can't be anything too serious.
As for flying.....I guess Nintendo flies economy? Don't companies usually have their own private jets for these types of things to shuttle their execs with?

Just stress, I think probably from Wii U which is his own doing anyway. :P

Exactly. If he is really ill then he has my best, but I find it humorous that so many posters on so many sites are saying "no wonder he's sick considering what he's dealing with, poor guy" and are pouring out sympathies........while seemingly being oblivious that largely all of Nintendo's current situation rests on his shoulders.
The shame of the company not performing well is a heavy toll to live with and can lead to physical degeneration.
Lol I could see Iwata showing up to E3 and they just introduce him on stage with Reggie pushing him in wheelchair drugged up like Michael Jackson at his trials.
