I'm new to the DS world so I was wondering if the American DS has the ability to play games from Japan.  Any help is much appreciated.

yep it is.. i got a game from US which plays fine on my DS (i'm  from EU).. so go and buy some "other region" games.. your DS can play them

What?  I can't be lazy and ask a community of people if they know?  I find it easier finding out on here rather than scrolling through pages of links to pages that give me porn rather than answers.  Fun times.
