4GB ram and even worse 32gb storage.
Should I buy it or not? :o
I am the kind of guy that only needs one game to justify buying a system, so just for Zelda I'll say yes.
Not at the moment, no...by the end of this year however IF games like Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade 2 etc release as plan then yea. :P
Played my friends on the go for the first time the other day. Sold me even more on it. Just depends on what you need, since for me being able to play Metal Gear Zelda: Ganon's Pain on the go is plenty of incentive.
@thehig1: But again, you can game on the go and your new console has a great future instead of a gimped gamepad. Plus Switch has cooler features. Its well worth the price, even for just one game.
@jut: talking UK, you can get a Wii U for about £100, compared to £300, not quite a qaurter but not far off.
With just Zelda to play, paying an extra £200 to play a game in the canteen doesn't seem worth it.
It's different if your a Nintendo fan and your getting the console for thier other games, however like the poster I first addressed his interest was only Zelda.
@thehig1: No, but if they want Zelda. Zelda on Switch is the ultimate experience. Plus he could play future Zelda games.
@iandizion713: it's not too often more than 1 main Zelda game is made on the same console.
The GameCube and Wii only had one main Zelda game
£200 extra for a better experience in one game, it's a little steep for that reason I wouldn't recommend a switch to someone who's only interested in Zelda.
@thehig1: Switch is replacing 3DS and Wii U. Which both received tons of Zelda games. Switch has great potential. If you want Zelda, then Switch is the ultimate experience.
@thehig1: Its great potential for all the Zelda games to be on one ultimate platform. Making Switch the supreme experience. If you want Zelda and the best, Switch is the clear choice.
@thehig1: Could do whatever you want, but if you want the best Zelda experience, that Switch is whats up.
@thehig1: Its all about the potential. Plus Switch has superior features. But even if you play at home, Switch is better. Has better battery life in the controller.
Personally, the Nintendo Switch has been worth it without a question. I sound like a poster child for saying this, but the ability to transition from playing on my TV to continuing my game in the bedroom or out in the living room with my wife has been a godsend. I'm 65+ hours in Breath of the Wild, and without the portability I would probably only be at 40.
The potential of the console up is great. It's not just Zelda on the console right now; if you're willing to open your mind up past the 50+ hour adventure (mileage varies depending on how much you want to achieve), then you'll see you have great experiences on the indie and eShop front. Some may be ports from other consoles or PC, but again, that portability factor for me is too much and is my perfect way to play an indie game. Very quickly on the horizon is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2, and by the end of the year we should at least have Super Mario Odyssey and all signs are pointing to a release of Xenoblade 2. Plus a treasure trove of indies and who knows whatever large releases.
You may not think it's the time to ante up and that's okay. Patience is a beautiful thing. But the games are coming and the console itself is quite the wonder. Friends, coworkers, and family so far have been impressed with the ability to swap out from TV to portable, and then do two-player from the portable mode. Nothing like waiting in the car for your to-go order to finish up and squeezing some co-op Shovel Knight or SnipperClips in. :P
It's worth it... .later naybe holiday season.honestly if it weren't for the scarce console supply I'd have have just got a wii u and waited
With Zelda? More than any other system at launch in a long time.
But as always, you don't buy a system at or around launch for the games available on it alone. You get it for the huge potential it has. And here the Switch seems to look into a fantastic future.
@thehig1: Thats a silly thing to say. Glad you dont make my purchases.
if buying console for Zelda only, Wii U is better choice as its cheaper.
Features are less importsant when you intend to either sell or chuck the console in the attic once your done with Zelda.
@thehig1: I'm UK too, where are you seeing Wii U for 100 quid ? They're going for 200 plus on eBay and I'll happily flip them to pay for a new bathroom.

£120, still not too bad.
@thehig1: So your quarter has become a half, still that's cheaper than I expected.
I might get one and see if I can flip it on ebay. Nice one :D
Switch is £279, that Wii U is £120, I was guessing somewhat at the time, but still pretty cheap.
The way I see it Zelda BOTW costs £165 (if you dont already own a Wii U or Switch)
@thehig1: That makes zero sense. Cheaper don't make it better. And buying just to resale is a waste of time. Switch offers the superior Zelda experience. So for those that want the best, Switch is a no brainer.

Never said better.
I'll start over
There are people like me, who are interested in Zelda Breath of the Wild, and literally nothing else Nintendo has to offer now, or planned, and generally has not been interested in Nintendo games.
So if your really desperate to play Zelda, then the game will either cost you £165 (Wii U & Zelda) or £325 (Switch & Zelda)
Why would anyone of this mindset get the switch for it, when its one and only purpose is Zelda.
No, but it's the only way to play BotW if you don't have or want a Wii U. So.... How bad do you want it...
Personally I went and bought BotW, but then couldn't bring myself to buy a Switch... I think I'll wait a year or so and see where the hardware is...
@thehig1: That fine, but if you want the superior experience, Switch is where it's at. Switch has great potential.
4GB ram and even worse 32gb storage.
Should I buy it or not? :o
It takes Micro SD cards, so the storage is easily expandable. The biggest question, is do you like to play Mario, Zelda, and other Nintendo games.
Personally I've been enjoying it, and the downside, is that the virtual console isn't available at launch. For me, the machine is ideal for some of the greatest nintendo games ever, and you can take it anywhere. I think it's kind of on the expensive side now, with the extra stuff you'll want like SD card, Pro Controller, games... But think long term it will be worth it. I don't see a price drop anytime soon, so just depends if you want to spend the money now vs. later vs. not at all.

Anyone who asks a question that starts off like that shouldn't be playing on a console. Just buy a PC if specs are so fucking important. No console is good in comparison with PC specs.
If you like to play games for fun, then the Switch is completely worth it.
