I mostly use my SD card to keep a copy of every game I d/l from Virtual Console and Wiiware. By simply leaving the card plugged into the slot 24/7 do i risk doing any damage to it? is it better to store the sd card unplugged?

I don't really think it's risky since I leave it there all the time and nothing's happened to it

Don't worry about it. It's OK to leave it for a lifetime.

Isn't any more harmful than leaving it in a camera.

Just don't bump it or anything. Keep the tray closed if you can.

I've had my SD card in my Wii for about a year now. I haven't had any problems yet. *knock on wood*

I think it's safer inside the wii than outside.

Why would it be a problem? I don't understand why you're asking this.

That is actually the purpose of the slot Mine is always there unless I change it to a 2GB one to play Rock Band 2

Yeah really. In the Wii it's protected. Besides the SD card is basically the Wii's hard drive. I had my 2GB one in there for like 3 years and then I've had a 8GB one in for around a year everything has been fine.
