If Nintendo announced a new system (HD or whatever), would you actually upgrade?

Not even mentioning 3rd party support, what titles it would launch with, advanced controls, etc.

Would you actually buy it if it say... it released this fall? You absolutely know nothing about it, they just said "it will release this fall." Would you buy it?

No. I don't have the money for a new system - I'm pleased with the Wii as is and don't require HD to enjoy.

If it was fully backwards compatible with Wii (I have a pretty large Wii game collection :P). I'd also like to be able to copy over my Wiiware/VC purchases. If it does both then I'll buy it at launch :)

A totally new system... eventually, but after I've built my Wii collection a little more and obtained the money to afford the investment of something new.

No. Games matter, and nintendo hasn't pushed the envelope in forever, IMO. They even stooped to re-releasing gamecube games.

As long as people keeping buying into the same 5 franchises, why would they need to innovate?

So I won't upgrade. Not having played my wii in forever, none of the game since 2006 interested me, and that was because of the innovative controls.

I guess I'm not the demographic they make games for.

Need more info...if they pull another Wii 1.5x => WiiHD ..then NO! ...a complete new systm with specs better or same (thos should be better) than the current 2 competitors then Yes! I'd buy it on launch day. :)

Wii 2, or whatever it will be called. Mos def, if it's the real next step in consoles, and not just a redesign, Nintendo isn't going to release a "WiiHD" they're going to release a whole new console, with updated graphics, and everything, like they always do, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, what ever is next.

It's going to probably be BC with NES, SNES. N64, Gamecube(disc, maybe downloads by then), and Wii. So yeah, if it mean new games that I can't play on Wii, and actually a new console, NOT JUST A Wii HD, or an redesign.

If it's just HD, then no. Nintendo and third parties aren't even pushing the Wii to its limit, so what is the point of getting a more powerful system.

well since 3ds is bc with ds what makes you think nintendos next console isnt gonna be bc with all titles including gc .

i think thats nintendos goal is to keep gc alive , in some form , ,

cause since mariokart wii uses gc pads it would only make since that wii2 will do everything wii 1 does and more ,

i doubt theyl be as cheap as the comptitors- price yes it will be cheaper but what your going to get wont even be a cheap investment,

itll have all the features wii has plus the 3 extra resolutions and better grapghics

since wii does 480p it just needs to do 3 more , ,

what they should do i s take your old wii console, transfer all the memory to this HD one and give it back to you for less than $100. I mean wii was realeased in the same year as xbox 360 AND PS3 yet it doesn't have HD. It should have SHIPPED with HD and if they decide to charge more than $100 for this thenI will not be getting it

It would have to be REALLY good. i am not even sure about the 3DS, the consoles come and go too fast...
