Hello all. Two months or three back I let my girlfriend's big brother borrow my Wii and he let me borrow his 360, sometime during that time I got myself a cheap HDTV. I got my Wii back, and I also bought the component cables for progressive scan-goodness. But on a 32 inch, it's not a very pretty sight. I once saw a picture of Twilight Princess upscaled to 1080p on someone's HDTV and it looked really good, my question is, how can I upscale it to a higher resolution? Do I need a special cable? Thanks!

I have a 26" Sanyo LCD HDTV in my room and Twilight Princess looks MUCH better on it with component cables. There's definitely a visible difference between the component and composite cables.

I understand there is a difference with the component cables, I have them too. But I heard there's a way to upscale them to even higher resolution even though the Wii doesn't support it. It's called Upscaling or something, and it makes it look even better.

i asked the same question a few months back, about how my wii could be played on my hdtv in 1080p. and the only answer i got was from stupid fanboys who said:"nooooo, teh wii only playz in 480p ur stoopid". so i would very much like to know how this is done too.

That looks amazing. My guess is you'd have to buy that Sony box in the pictures and some kind of special tv/cable. I really have no idea, but that really does look awesome.

Through the amazing upscaling power of the Sony STR-DA5200ES you too can enjoy 1080p on the Nintendo Wii.

Looks like it's the 1500.00 dollar reciver thats making the magic happen not just a couple cables.

A few games look great in 480p: Elebits and Super Paper Mario come to mind. A few games look good in 480p: Excite Truck, Zelda, Red steel. A few games look alright.... but some just look butt ugly and riddled with jaggies: Wii Sports... it really depends on the game regarding 480p... I wish they had more support for HD now that I have a decent HDTV w/component cables... I just hope support gets better as it goes, which it will. I'd like to see some sort of upscale as well... if it's techincally possible.

Here are some upscalers. I've included quite a range of prices, there all from the same company though. Not sure what there like personally but I knew they had some.
