The official release date says TBA 2010, but it is already 2010 and we dont even have a single in game screenshot of the game. My guess is Q4 2011 at the earliest. Not trying to be a pessimist, but the facts dont lie.

Spirit Tracks is my reply to that. they unveiled it, then a few months later it was releasedgarrett_duffmanHandhelds are a different story. They put a lot more resources and funds into console Zeldas. I think it'll be released sometime in 2011 as well. It just makes more sense.
Do you wonder if there will be a "Wii HD" and the next Zelda will be the launch game? Or is that highly unlikely, since it's rumored this new Zelda has been in development for a while, supposedly?
but the facts dont lie.muscle_sharkWhat facts exactly? I see a fact. Still, nothing that would make me 100% sure. As Garrett said, look at spirit tracks. And weren't Punch-Out!!! and Excite Bots released just months after they were shown for the first time as well?
There is't going to be a wii HD. There's just going to be nintendo's next console, which will probably be HD.Do you wonder if there will be a "Wii HD" and the next Zelda will be the launch game? thattotally
And there may or may not be a zelda game at launch for it.
I hope it isn't out this year, if it is then Nintendo would have to rush it and every console Zelda so far has been well worth the wait :).
after breezing through the release dates of all the Nintendo made Zelda's (CD-i obviously doesn't count) I see the majority of Zelda's have been released between the October and December. Notable exceptions are the original LoZ, LttP, and WindWaker. So if we don't see Zelda this season, we probably won't get it till 2011, which, IMO, makes it a likely candidate to be a launch game for the Super Wii.
That sounds even better to me, I would rather see the next step in my favourite gaming franchise not being held back by the limitations of the Wii.after breezing through the release dates of all the Nintendo made Zelda's (CD-i obviously doesn't count) I see the majority of Zelda's have been released between the October and December. 100% sure huh. That's pretty sure. This year has still got 10 months left... alot can happen in 10 months-I hope
i think we didnt have anything about nsmbw till e3 and it came in november? The official release date says TBA 2010, but it is already 2010 and we dont even have a single in game screenshot of the game. My guess is Q4 2011 at the earliest. Not trying to be a pessimist, but the facts dont lie.

Yeah I remember how we started getting screens and video for NSMB Wii 4 years before it came outt >_> flawless logic here. The official release date says TBA 2010, but it is already 2010 and we dont even have a single in game screenshot of the game. It has been in development for a LONG time. Longer than any wii game i can think of...close to 6 years by the time it releases. It has a good chance of making 2010. Bt it also has a good chance of 2011. But 2010 is still available. Anyway, we still have GDC and teh thing in a couple days...summit right? Nintendo has some opertunitys to show Zelda b4 E3.
if the game is not playable at nextE3, surely it won't be released on 2010.
yosat
exactly
I don't see it coming out in 2010 but the way Nintendo has been acting lately, who knows. To me, Mario and Link would be competing against one another, but who knows. Maybe Nintendo would dominate hardware and software sales if it released this holiday season.
I still doubt it though
Yeah, man. February. Christmas is just around the corner? How was Toy Story 3?but it is already 2010 and we dont even have a single in game screenshot of the game.

knuckl3head
I agree
Well considering that a new console will likely come out sometimebetween Q3 2011 and Q2 2012 it will likely be out in November this year or in the srping of 11. This zelda game is clearly for the wii so it has to come outat least 6 months before the new console right? And the zelda team won't wait to long to get started on the new consoles zelda game
So im guessing no ones read into the fact that this game has been im development prior to e3 in 2006...?
There are plenty of examples of nintendo being quiet until the end, look at NSMB Wii.
Its going to be 4 years since TP came out, and that is the longest gap between any zelda game already as is.
I don't mind really. Twilight Princess is still £29.35 at its cheapest and it came out 3 years and 2 months ago.

Ya, but wasn't PH delay once or twice? Also, Nintendo announced New Super Mario Bros. Wii at E3, and released in the same year. Furthermore, until September or October, we did not get anymore information about the game.We only had the trailer from E3. Therefore, maybe Nintendo has a new approach when they "officially" announce a new game. For example, they don't release any information about the game (Zelda) until it is almost complete, and I do recall that Nintendo could have made a trailer for Zelda at E3 09, but they decided not to.
Im not too sure. Mainly because not only does Nintendo have Zelda set for a 2010 release on their Japanese schedual, the holdiay season as of now is completely barren of any good releases, or Nintendo releases for that matter. Its entirely possible that Zelda will make a late Holiday season release.
