Okay many people in these forums have kept on saying and saying that TP was soooooo disappointing. Could you please explain why? Personally I think it is the best Zelda game yet.

Allow me to defend this game. One it has motion controls. The motion controls are simply amazing. It makes the game far more ingrossing. It is alot easier to aim with the bow, sling shot ,and what not with a pointer rather than a control stick that can be overly sensitive. Two, the story is just as great as any other Zelda game if not better. I think it is the best so far. If it isn't as great as OoT's then please explain to me why exactly it isn't. Third, the presentation of the game is awesome. It is much more dark, serious, and engaging than any of the others. Finally, the graphics are the best on any Zelda game yet (common knowledge), Particle effects, the cutscenes or whatever they are called were all done very well.

Oh heaven forbid TP actaully borrow a lot from OoT. In actuallity it was brilliant. Here they took something that was revloutionary and awesome and made it even better. Now it wasn't revloutionary like OoT was save only for motion controls, but it was better in every way and every fashion. They improved upon the OoT formula in TP. Which means TP is better. To me this is like The Legend of Zelda to ALttP. They were the same, nothin revolutionary, but ALttP did everythign a heck of alot better and added some more gizmoes. What is there to hate about it?

That is all I have for now.

It wasn't as refreshing and original one could expect a main Zelda to be, that's it.

And please don't forget Wii controls are tacked on the GC version.

It was disappointing because TP, like wintry said, was not refreshing. There was little change in the game. I got really bored after the first boss. Many was expecting something special, something to change and make the series feel new again.

I enjoyed a lot about this game, but it took me several months to complete it. The pacing felt slow and I was doing too many fetch quests. As a result, I stopped playing the game for a couple of months before I picked it back up.

I enjoyed the graphics, but feel as if Nintendo did it to appease the core audience. I would like Nintendo to go back to the cel-shaded Zelda sans the kiddie vibe. The new Prince of Persia happens to be cel-shaded, yet it looks mature and real. That's the Legend of Zelda's art style!

The music was alright. I enjoy the melodies, but the midi makes my ears bleed. Where's the orchestra? As epic as the Legend of Zelda series games are they now demand an orchestral soundtrack! The technology is there so there's now excuse Nintendo. Koji Kondo's music deserves that kind of respect.

The story is simple...help Midna get back to the Twilight World. As you fetch items to help Midna go back you learn about the past. The past is the real story of the game and we don't get to play it. I want to experience not just see cutscenes of the changes in Zant, the resurrection of Ganon in the twilight world, the ousting of Midna, etc.

Despite my gripes I enjoyed the game.

It's a good game, but it's not the best of the Zelda games. It just didn't distinguish itself from the previous Zelda titles and just felt like more of the same.

i loved tp, though i do still like OoT better. i like the motion controls except for the sword. and nunchuck controls werent good at all (trying to do a sheild shove is almost impossible for me, he always spin attacks..) but the controls are the only issue i have with the game. everything else about it was perfect, i couldnt have asked for more.

I liked TP because I wasnt stuck on one part for far too long and it kept me playing the game, but that is just me. While TP was a great game it is not as good as WW IMO, OoT a lot say is amazing, but it is my lease favorite so I get little say in that matter for not finishing it.

Seems like I'm the one to go into the details for you. Let us begin where you began

1. Motion Controls. Tacked on, is the best way to describe it. It really didn't feel like it involved you into the game like Nintendo claimed. Sure it was good but it really wasn't as great as your making it out to be.

2. Story. Probably one of the biggest set backs. The story was not very engaging and didn't have alot of detail. The triforse was mentioned at a bare minimum and might as well have never appeared on Link's hand.

The story tried to be dark but the mood didn't suit this at all creating a real loss of place feel. Not alot of the settings were dark and the twilight realm wasn't as dark and scary as it should have been. The music the twilight realm wasn't very dark either nor any place in the real world. So we have a dark story but no where to put it, it came across very out of place.

Many characters lacked alot of depth with Midna being the only one I can think of. I can name many more in other titles.

I actually have to go now, I'll explain more tommorow.

I agree with you entirely on the story. My biggest problem with the story was the Ganondorf just felt tacked on. They didn't need to put Ganondorf in TP. They could have fleshed out Zant a little more and he would have been a decent main villian.

It is a great game but it is way too similar to Ocarina of Time! Also, some characters lacked development!

I liked the game, but it felt like I've been here before when I've played this game. It didn't have an exciting fresh feel to the game. The graphics and the motion control were nice, but it didn't WOW me. It felt the same. Maybe there should have been a different boss, someone meaner than Ganon, more unpredictable. I just expected more out of this game. Something more better and exciting. :P

To me the Wii controls were tacked on, Ganondorf felt like he was added to the game at the last minute, the wolf parts weren't great for the most part, and the soundtrack was disappointing. I also felt that it was a little too similar to OoT, through that not really a bad thing.

I was disappointed because previous Zelda's were constantly moving forward (Ocarina, Majora's, Wind Waker) and suddenly!, Twilight Princess shoves the series into reverse. It lacked innovation (motion was tacked on from the GC version, and didn't actually add much)! Oh, and the dungeon designs were pretty lame, the bosses were crazy easy, the wolf sections for the first part were just stupid fetch quests, etc., etc.

Thats the best way to describe how I felt.

I had to sometimes force myself to get through the game which gave me a great sense of disappointment. I was expecting something more from the game. But I still thought the game was very good but I felt like to represent the Wii and the start of its new generation of gaming I was very disappointed.

Here's why I thought it was dissapointing: it wasn't all that...fun. There were some fun parts, but over all it was just unsatisfactory. Yes, I agree that the story was great- probably the best so far. I also liked that it was dark and creepy. However being a wolf really didn't add much to the game, and I usually dreaded being a wolf and finding those stupid invisible bug things. Also, there was no place in the game where I thought, "man would it be cool if I could really go there in real life", like I did with Wind Waker and OoT.

It really is a great game, but it should've been a lot better. I did like the really epic moments like jousting with that green guy on the warthog on the bridge of eldin, or escorting telma and that one girl to Kakoriko Town. The dungeons were superb as well. It just felt a little...I don't know. Wind Waker is my all time fave.

I liked the Wolf gameplay parts, they were interesting and freshened things up a little. And the 7 special moves that you learn from that ghost dude were cool to spice up the combat a little. And I like how in the Wii version instead of having to charge up the spin attack, you can just shake the nunchuck. Only problem is, sometimes it would confuse spin attack with shield bash and vice versa.

I was also confused with all the Zelda: TP hate. I actually thought it was very well done with probably the most epic final boss battle ever. When Ganondorf gave that final scream of pain, it brought chills down my spine.

Ok, continuing on from where I left off

2. Story (part II), Ganon barely had any part in the story except for the end. His appearance wasn't bad but it was unneeded. Zant was perfectly fine. However they screwed Zant's character at the end becoming way too cheerful and child like. Leaving Ganon to be the main villain. Really unnecessary, Zant was fine and refreshing.

Din, Fafore and Nayru are barely spoken of, except for in one or two cut scenes.

3. Gamplay, Wolf Gameplay was very boring and was basically just Magic Mirror + Shovel + Eye of Truth. The Wolf also didn't extend on any of those features, they were jsut put on and pretty much untouched.

Dungeons were very easy and offer little challenge. This is understandable at first but the difficulty didn't rise much. Hyrule Castle was an incredibly boring dungeon and horrible way to end the dungeon list. The only temple that offered something new to Zelda was the Snow Peak temple. All the other temples are recycled ones from other games.

Massive lack of side quests and the few avilable were very boring.

4. Random Odd Things, The Ooccoo really don't fit into the Zelda universe. Nor anywhere I can think of on that note. Its also doesn't fit with the darker tone.

You can't go to Death Mountain in a Hyrulean based game? It appeared but its unreachable.

No instrument, something alot of fans missed alot. The wolf howling doesn't count because he only learns Epona's Song

The Clowns, need I say more.

Theres Gerodo desert but no Gerodos.

In the trailers, the Twilight realm was black and white, which suited the mood perfectly. But they changed it to Yellow which jsut loks stupid and amatuer.

Sumo wrestling, completly stupid and tacked on.

How on earth did a mirror piece get inside the temple of time?

Very plain and boring soundtrack.

same ol' dungeons with old puzzles after same ol' dungeons with old puzzles. I don't even have any real memorable moments from the game and that says something - to me anyway. next one needs more stuff to do in between dungeons and different puzzles. I think by now we ALL know that eyes are shot with arrows, rocks are bombed, and if there are four torches and only three of them are lit you use your lamp to light the unlit one. :? See what I mean?

Okay for the dungeons. They were great. They were the biggest ever. They blew my mind away. I went back and played OoT and realized how much supperior TP's are to any other Zelda game. I still don't see what their is to hate. The Final dungeon, Hyrule Castle, was also pretty good. Could have been done better, but it was good. I liked that one room espcially where you have to fight two of those armored knights at the same time. That was lots of fun.The sky world was really the best one in my opinion.

The motion controls had their problems, but for the most part I really enjoyed them. They added alot to the game even though they had their problems.

Being a wolf was fun. I loved looking for those bug thingys. I loved singing with the wolf. Singing with the wolf actaully presented a challenge to me. It was more enjoyable than an ocarina. It was aslo refreshign not to just be a person all of the time.

Also, how was Ganon just thrown in there? Zant had to get his powers from somewhere. Ganon was needed for his powers. You have to have some sort of change in order to have a coup.

And with the Gerudo or however you spell it desert and the people living there. Who knows what happened to them. Perhaps that will be explained in another game.

With a Twilight Realm you have to have something more than just black and white. Light does have a yellow color especially when the sun sets or rises, otherwise known as twilight.

Side quests may have been a bit short, but I have never been big a side quest fan. In fact WW was hard for me because I skipped most of the side quests. I beat it with 10 hearts and 2 bottles. Just goes to show ya how much I don't like them.

The Ococoo or whatever also were important. They were obviously said to be tha ancient Hylians or whatnot. That's how I understood it anyways. Also, they inhabit the world of the Sky. How does temple get into the sky if you don't have these guys? "Oh this temple? It just magically appeared here." Why not have these guys in the early on start to give you hints of the future? They did for me. It just made the game far more interesting.ANd it was nice to be able to revers to places.

I really liked Twilight Princess, so I disagree with it being disappointing. Familiar and not really innovative, maybe. But still intriguing and addictive (at least to myself.)
