You need one of those unless you've got a wireless router. The Wii can't connect to the internet by itself.

No. There are some routers like D-Link(mine) that connect perfectly to the Wii.

If you need more help Just call Nintendo or visit their support site. :)

I use a dsl modem and a lan adapters. I think Lan adapters are $20 at Wal-Mart. It works, but sometimes takes a while to be able to access the internet.

do you have more than 4 wireless/wired things connected to it?

the router can only handle 4 total of each

that might be your problem

scroll over to the tab that says internet in the settings menu. click on that and click connection 1. if you are using a router click wireless connection. then click look for an access point. it should find your router automatically and if all is in working order you will conect to it. when you are done if the connection is succesful click use connection (it should do this aoutomatically) then get a wifi game, click nintendo wfc/multiplayer (it varies by game) and you should connect straight away.

hmmm.... If you are using a passcode translator you may be inputting the wrong code. Is it a long series of letters and numbers? If you have it right try putting your error code in Here

it depends on the router, generally in the bottom of your computer screen click your routers icon but it varies. it usually is down with all the icons on the taskbar

If you have Wi-Fi router(in your home or if your neighbour has it) than you can connect to it with the wii. If the network is protected than you will need to enter the WEP key (found in your router settings).

If you don't have a Wi-Fi router, than you can create a Wireless network with:

1. a Wi-Fi network card or a USB network card (Nintendo offers one)

2. a laptop( with a network bridge)

If you don't have any of these, than you can connect with a UTP cable, but you will need a USB converter (one end goes into the wii's USB port and the other end goes into a modem/router/switch/PC(network bridge).

Haven't tried, but should work in theory: if your modem has a USB port, than you can connect directly to the modem with a simbple USB cable. I have a small THOMSON modem with a USB/B port and the normal UTP(ethernet) port. Gotta try this one day.

--> Wouldnt it be cool if the wii could create a network bridge?

--> If you already know this and did't want to spend 3 min reading it, than i am sorry i took your time.
