i noticed that ever since the release of the wii, nintendo never mentioned anything about starfox. the only thing was the star fox 64 game for the VC.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Miyamoto was quoted quite some time ago when talking about it. I don't honestly remember what he said, but I don't think it was negative by anymeans.
The way Star Fox controls, I would have to say that it would most likely be hard to get that down (to a pick up and play level of say Mario Kart). I'm sure they're tinking with it still, or it's in development.
Just sit back, and relax. They'll eventually announce it.
Here's some reasons I can think of:
Before everyone was saying "where is donkey Kong for the wii?i"and eventually it came out and i believe that a starfox game is in the works but no word is being mentioned about it as yet from nintendo.TriniPlayeram i missing something because .... where is donkey kong for the wii?

I fullly agree! I have been wanting A Starfox Wii since the announcement of the console. I in fact have loved every iteration of Star Fox that has come out. From Adventures to Command to Assault.
And I find it baffling that Wii fans in this forum seem to think putting a Starfox game on the Wii would result in difficult or awkward controls. Am I missing something here? Wiimote and nunchuk + Starfox = obvious match made in heaven! Right? I know I'm not crazy. It would be insane I feel.
And yes...F-Zero too pleaseeeeeeee :)

they never mentions f-zero eitherfunsohngYeah F-Zero doesnt have a game this gen but Starfox has Command on the DS.
theres a really simple explanation, actually. lets give each letter a numerical value, A being 1 and and every 10 letters revert back to 1 (so we have 1 through zero) spell nintendo and give it a numerical value (48495445) add the numbers together (4+8+4+0+5+4+4+5) and get 34. now do the same with starfox (9+0+1+8+6+5+4) which equals 33. so given that nintendo = 34 and starfox = 33, nintedo does not equal starfox. garrett_duffman
Actually it is easy to make a game like Star Fox with the Wii Remote just look at Sin & Punishment 2 and that is how Star Fox will play basically with the Wii Remote since Sin & Punishment 2 is the closest game that you could get to Star Fox it's just Star Fox is in Vehicles while Sin & Punishmen isn't in vehicles. Here's some reasons I can think of:
- Nintendo has no reason to release another Star Fox game. After all, with the Wii ____ games selling well as well as Mario, Zelda, and Metroid all selling well, I don't think Nintendo needs to update any more hardcore IPs anymore other than what was already updated this gen.
- The whole series has been taking heat ever since Adventures came out.
- It's hard to make a game like Star Fox with the Wiimote, and the game HAS to use them if the game is going to sell well.

THERE WAS ACTUALLY AN INTERVIEW WITH THE STARFOX PEOPLE AND THEY SAID THEY WOULDNT REALLY LIKE TO MAKE A STARFOX FOR WII BECAUSE THEY THINK THE WII IS CHILDISH.... ILL TRY TO FIND THE LINK

I would never believe that at all. No offense to what you read, but just doesn't seem likely at all.
It does seem odd, Starfox would work really well with the Wiimote, a barrel roll would be something like twisting the wiimote twice in either direction, A would be your main laser, C or Z would be torpedoes, B would be thrusters and the stick would be targetting and movement. It's easy and I'm sure it would be a smooth system.
As for F-Zero, there's the wheel from Mario Kart Wii, it wouldn't be all that hard to adapt a control method for that to an F-Zero game.

a guy that worked on 2 starfox games said that. just ignore him.Actually he worked on 3 because he worked on Command. But yeah I would take what he says with a Grain of Salt because it is up to Nintendo and Miyamoto if they want to make a new Star Fox.honestly with the wii remote it would probably control much like sin and punishment 2... and that's probably why, the nintendo team that would normally work on starfox (internally) is busy with sin and punishment 2Miyamoto was quoted quite some time ago when talking about it. it looks like they are only focusing on new players category of games. im not saying its a bad thing but they are focusing way too much. i was suprised they announce two new mario games at e3. but again they are not as hardcore maybe galaxy 2 is. nintendo needs to focus a little more on the veteran nintendo fans. im surperised i stilll have my wii. that and i dnt have enough money to get a different console.
