Nice, score. I think Tiger 10 will score higher though.

Yeah, this one had some recognition issues. Nintendo Power gave Grand Slam Tennis a 7.5, and Tiger Woods 10 a 9.0, calling it the best sports game ever (or something to that extent).

Sounds good, ONM UK gave it 90%, and gave tiger woods 81%.

Well tennis was always going to be the harder test for motion plus. A lot of differnt strokes going on during a point versus golf where it can focus on each swing. I am 4.5 tennis player and most people i see have poor technique vs skilled players. I could imagine the headache creating this game could be.

Sounds like EA got the controls down. Makes me even more excited for Tiger Woods, though. I'm not much of a tennis guy.

But what's with the first paragraph of the review? He calls motion controls prior to this game a "big joke" and says there are only a few that actually use it well. So I looked at my collection of 25 games..... and counted 12 that I'd consider to have excellent motion controls. He's probably just jaded from playing nearly 100% of the Wii's library and forgot that if you don't count the cash-in games that most people don't play, then motion control hasn't been that big of a joke....

The review seems to state it isn't quite 1:1 and comes out of sync every now and again, so I don't think the controls are completly down right ;-)

However, he did enjoy it a lot so the controls aint that sloppy!!

I'm waiting for the review of virtua tennis (out tomorrow in USA, later in UK) and see how that goes, hopefully from IGN too and get a fair comparison.

I don't either. I'd like to compare both of their online play before I actually buy it so I might have to rent them both first. I did see Virtual Tennis bundled with a tennis racket on bestbuy.ca

I am a bit disappointed with what they said about the serving mechanics. Half the fun of tennis is giving a solid serve to your opponent. I hope Virtua Tennis address that issue better.

Sounds good! I'll really consider getting this title a little later on. I've got to save up for a car, so I don't really have a whole lot of extra cash to spend on anymore games for a while haha.

Tennis is one of the few sports type of games I genuinely enjoy and they just made it better.

Eurogamer doesn't seem too pleased with the controls at all. Maybe they just suck at tennis there :P

Eurogamer have given some great games quiet bad scores in the past so I don't go by one review.

Yeah, this one had some recognition issues. Nintendo Power gave Grand Slam Tennis a 7.5, and Tiger Woods 10 a 9.0, calling it the best sports game ever (or something to that extent).

They called it the most "authentic" sports game ever. That does not mean it's the best.
