That pisses me off. It should be atleast better than the original xbox. (If anyone is going to post saying graphics don't matter/gameplay is more important.. Don't.. I don't want to hear it keep it relevant to this post.)
Just xbox 1 not 360. I found this article.
Xbox Vs. Wii: A Comparative Analysis
It makes me sad. Because The Wii is my favorite system (aside from PC). Re4 had amazing graphics and re1 and 0 had even better graphics (although it was partially pre rendered.) With all this talk about re5 coming to the wii and possible remakes of 2 and 3, I would think the wii would have more than enough power. Re4s grpahics where great and still are. I would think that re5 on the wii could have much better quality and better geometry. it doesn't have to be HD graphics to be good. Plus Metroid Prime 3 graphics just look clearer than Metroid Prime 2 .So i don't think that Metroid Prime 3 is pushing the system.

If I recall, Xbox graphics weren't that much better than Gamecube. The Wii looks loads better than the GC.
In response to your gameplay>graphics argument: The Wii wasn't designed with graphics in mind, the xbox was. Sure the Wii can do great graphic, there just haven't been any devs that have stepped up to the plate yet.
Most everything on the Wii looks better than what we have seen last gen.
The Wii is about as powerful as the original Xbox.
The PC version of Doom 3 was miles ahead of the Xbox version.
it was nowhere near 99.9% of the PC version intact. the quality of the graphics on the xbox version took a severe beating. same with HL2. all that fancy bumpmapping on the creatures and so on had to be removed.
can the wii do better? its a grey area. we dont know what the GPU can do really. it has a better CPU and more ram...but the GPU is a mystery. we know it goes around 250MHz...and thats it.
it possibly could pull of the same effects seen in the xbox version of doom3 but a dev might need to take a completly different approach to it. weve seen tech demos of the wii doing bump mapping and real time lighting and shadows and all that jazz.
good graphics are in the eyes of the beholder.
i don't see how the 360 could of made Super Mario Galaxy look any better. Twilight Princess, Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, and even Mario Kart all have good graphics in my opinion.
when the wii first came out i remember reading it was about double the power of the cube, and while the xbox was stronger, i never saw any evidence that it was twice the power of the cube.
all i know is that i haven't seen a game as pretty as Galaxy on the xbox

The Wii is 1.75x the power of the GC, but it doesn't matter all I care about are how good the games are.

I agree. The Wii wasn't built to be a graphic powerhouse, therefore you can't expect it to be.
I really like the games that are coming to Wii. Besides, all Wii owners should have known what they were getting into when they decided to buy a Wii. It's been like this with all Nintendo consoles since the SNES. People buy Nitnendo consoles for Nintendo games, everything in between is icing on the cake, butter on the bread.

Oh.. I didn't know that. The gamespot video review said the downtoning was minimal. I have the PC version of Doom 3 and I've played it on xbox but that was years ago.
Until I see proof in the games on the Wii, I am going to continue to believe the original Xbox is more powerful than the Wii.no_one089
I agree. There are still many Xbox games which look better than the best Wii game.

I never expected it to me a graphic powerhouse but I did expect it to atleast be better than the best of last generation.
It wouldn't happen to be The Conduit would it? :roll:yup, it can generate better graphics than a xbox.
theres a company that will be releasing an awesome FPS for wii, and made a whole new engine with absurd graphics (comparing to wii's current games).
too bad i cant remember the name...

Maybe, but with all the graphically intense FPS's on the Wii it can be hard to keep them straight.

I hope that was sarcasm.Wii System specs as compared to Xbox...

just a short list of obvious points that show wii at 480p is closer to x360 than it is x
they are better that the orignial xbox, but who cares.
atm the wii is kicking ass, and although we only see very few good looking 3rd party games, it stilll rocks.
i reckon the next nintendo console is going to blow the minds of everyone in the world cause there is only two places that nintendo can expand on, thats graphics and improve online game play
