First 3DS game reviews are in..

Famitsu in Japan has reviewed some of the launch titles, and given the following scores:

nintendogs + cats – 10/9/9/10 = 38/40
Samurai Warriors: Chronicles – 9/9/8/8 = 34/40
Super Street Fighter IV 3D – 9/8/8/9 34/40
Dynasty Warriors 3DS - 9/9/8/8 = 34/40
PES 2011 3D – 8/8/8/8 = 32/40
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle – 8/8/8/8 = 32/40
Ridge Racer 3D – 8/8/7/9 = 32/40
Super Monkey Ball 3D – 9/8/8/7 = 32/40
Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D – 6/6/6/6 = 24/40
Puzzle Bobble 3D – 6/6/6/6 = 24/40

Also check out some initial observations, translated to English:

• Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle: The puzzle solving doesn't use 3D too much, but investigating a screen with depth feels good. The game is enjoyable in 2D as well.
• Super Monkey Ball 3D: The gyro-based controls don't fit with 3D. Playing with the gyro controls is fun, but when the 3D is turned on for this, it's a bit difficult to play.
• Ridge Racer 3D: There are few modes. Beginners can easily drift, but the rival car difficulty is high. Good points include the BGM and the inclusion of many old courses.
• Pro Evolution Soccer: The game is lacking in terms of modes, but the standard modes are there. The feeling of distance and closeness is increased because of the 3D depth. The text is a bit hard to see.
• Nintendogs + cats: The fur is realistic and the wireless elements are good. The game can be enjoyed by anyone.
• Samurai Warriors Chronicle: There's a lot of volume, and the missions are enjoyable. The 3D makes it easy to grasp enemy position. The game's real time simulation elements are enjoyable.
• Super Street Fighter IV 3D: Graphics are good. The 3D versus option is a show for the system's 3D, but it can be a bit hard to see. The touch controls are convenient.
• Dynasty Warriors: "Nothing has changed much in the DW formula, but switching between characters while shouting out orders to your side gives this game a new sort of real-time strategy feel. Going 3D makes it easier to gauge positioning between yourself and enemies, which makes the game easier overall."

Sucks that PilotWings won't be reviewed until around the NA launch. I pretty much expected those scores for SFIV (around 8 to 9 out of 10), so it'll be the PW review that I'm interested in, to help me decide which of the two to get. Nice to see some reviews though.

Wow, the one game I'm interested in got one of the highest scores. Looks like I might be sold on Samurai Warriors Chronicles. I'll still wait for more reliable reviews though.

Thats what I am thinking. Ocarina of Time 3D might be my first 3DS game purchase. The features and getting Pokemon Black may last me till then :D

The forth has yet to be announced/released for NA, but it launched in Japan last year

Famitsu is Japan's most respected game reviewer.

Well I think our friends to the east are a little more tolerant of Dynasty Warriors, hence why the games are still being made. I mean I haven't heard a positive thing about Dynasty Warriors in years. Sepewrath

Let us pray that the next game for the 3DS at least score higher as well as I feel that the number of Latyon games released within four years is beginning to affect the quality of the series.
