I strongly believe that, for the first time ever, we already know most of what we're going to see at Nintendo's 2010 E3 Press Conference and how it's going to play out. Nintendo seems to have spilled the beans this year, with many titles already hinted at or even revealed.
I decided to make this thread to outline the most probable outcome of this year's conference, as well as add a bit of speculation, because you never know.
Enjoy!
- Talk about sales figures, mention the sucess of titles like NSMBWii, Galaxy 2, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, etc.
- Talk about expanding to new audiences, mention efforts like the recently released black Wii bundle, DSi XL, Netflix for Wii & Nintendo Zone
- Vitality Sensor unveiled, with at least 1 piece of software to go with it
- WiiWare + DSiWare montage
- Wii Party
- Pokemon Black & White
- Something with Mario in the title
- Zelda Wii
- Nintendo 3DS revealed, with at least 2 games to showcase the product
After watching Nintendo's previous E3 conferences and comparing how long they spend on each game/segment, I estimate that all of the above items would come close to filling up the hour-long time slot they have reserved, coming in at about the 50-minute mark. That leaves about 10 minutes of unknown material/speculation. Of course, with this being Nintendo, they could just stretch it all out and leave it as is. Regardless, here are some possible topics to fill that extra time:
- New Wii Channel
- Player's Choice lineup revealed for holiday 2010
- Retro's project
- Something on Span Smasher, The Last Story, Monado, Cosmic Walker, Pikmin 3, Sin & Punishment 2, Metroid Other M, Poke Park, and/or Golden Sun DS.
- A segment dedicated to third parties. Start off with how they are working more with third parties (Metroid Other M, Monster Hunter 3, Samurai Warriors 3, etc), then show a few third party games (Epic Mickey, Tales of Graces, Conduit 2, Dragon Quest, etc) in a montage clip.
Finally, just to crush any hopes you may have, the list of things that are just fanboy pipe dreams:
- Wii HD/New Wii System
- External Hard Drive
- The end of Friend Codes
- Headset
- Rare titles (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, etc) available on the VC
- "Hardcore" M-rated, Nintendo-developed title
- Kirby, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, etc.
Well, that just about does it. What do you think?
Would this lineup upset you? Did I miss anything? Feel free to comment!
