I strongly believe that, for the first time ever, we already know most of what we're going to see at Nintendo's 2010 E3 Press Conference and how it's going to play out. Nintendo seems to have spilled the beans this year, with many titles already hinted at or even revealed.

I decided to make this thread to outline the most probable outcome of this year's conference, as well as add a bit of speculation, because you never know.

Enjoy!

Likely to happen this year:

  • Talk about sales figures, mention the sucess of titles like NSMBWii, Galaxy 2, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Sports Resort, Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, etc.

  • Talk about expanding to new audiences, mention efforts like the recently released black Wii bundle, DSi XL, Netflix for Wii & Nintendo Zone

  • Vitality Sensor unveiled, with at least 1 piece of software to go with it

  • WiiWare + DSiWare montage

  • Wii Party

  • Pokemon Black & White

  • Something with Mario in the title

  • Zelda Wii

  • Nintendo 3DS revealed, with at least 2 games to showcase the product

Could happen this year:

After watching Nintendo's previous E3 conferences and comparing how long they spend on each game/segment, I estimate that all of the above items would come close to filling up the hour-long time slot they have reserved, coming in at about the 50-minute mark. That leaves about 10 minutes of unknown material/speculation. Of course, with this being Nintendo, they could just stretch it all out and leave it as is. Regardless, here are some possible topics to fill that extra time:

  • New Wii Channel

  • Player's Choice lineup revealed for holiday 2010

  • Retro's project

  • Something on Span Smasher, The Last Story, Monado, Cosmic Walker, Pikmin 3, Sin & Punishment 2, Metroid Other M, Poke Park, and/or Golden Sun DS.

  • A segment dedicated to third parties. Start off with how they are working more with third parties (Metroid Other M, Monster Hunter 3, Samurai Warriors 3, etc), then show a few third party games (Epic Mickey, Tales of Graces, Conduit 2, Dragon Quest, etc) in a montage clip.

NOT likely to happen this year:

Finally, just to crush any hopes you may have, the list of things that are just fanboy pipe dreams:

  • Wii HD/New Wii System

  • External Hard Drive

  • The end of Friend Codes

  • Headset

  • Rare titles (Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, etc) available on the VC

  • "Hardcore" M-rated, Nintendo-developed title

  • Kirby, Star Fox, Donkey Kong, F-Zero, etc.

Well, that just about does it. What do you think?

Would this lineup upset you? Did I miss anything? Feel free to comment!

Well we thought we had a good grasp of what they were going to do last year and we came out with Galaxy 2, NSMB, Other M and the crazy Vitality Sensor. So I wouldn't jump the gun on what will and will not be there. But I completely understand why they aren't teasing anything because people let their hype get way out of control.

Wait wait...what did we expect last year? I only knew of like 2 things on the menu. This year though they've got about 50 minutes of material already pretty much confirmed. I think this is a different situation.

Because they've been pretty much confirmed. They're all realistic, they're all things we already know about, so none of them are surprises.

Eh... I still think they'll have something up their sleeve.

But I seriously hope it's not another Wii. We don't need Nintendo to start rehasing their home consoles as well. Especially since the Wii really was kind of lacking to begin with IMO. No way I'm going to pay for a Wii rehash.

No matter what you or me try to say there will still be plenty of people complaining after E3 about what they didn't see but all I need is Zelda Wii. Anything after that will exceed my expectations but if there is no info on Zelda I will be very disappointed.

No way will Nintendo ever produce a hardcore M-Rated title. Never going to happen. Ever.

Glad a new Kid Icarus title did not fall into your not likely to happen category though =D

Remember how many games we saw showcased at E3 with the DS when it was formely announced?

Ya I know, I'm just sayin...

I'm pretty excited for it even if most the games we see will be early demos/concepts like with the DS and may end up getting drastically changed/canned.

Well of course people knew Zelda was assured at E3 last year and was going to be the big focus, Wii Sports Resort, WM+, there was rumblings of a new DS and the only thing that was actually correct was WSR. People's expectations were way off last year, the same could happen this year.

Probably not many surprises. The 3DS, which was likely originally meant to be their big surprise, got announced already, so what's left? There will probably be a little something, but nothing too huge that everyone uniformly cares about.

There were no confirmations last year, only speculation. Nintendo has stated publicly that there will be a successor to the DS, as well as Zelda, AT E3 this year. Last year we just saw a bunch of rumors that got out of hand, anybody with any sense figured that out.

On every year, I never hype on E3. I'm always more on the Summit conferences like in last February with Super Mario Galaxy 2, Sin & Punishment 2, Metroid Other M, Cave Story,... The only thing I want to see is Zelda and it's confirmed to be there. Why should I hype? I'd like to see more Wiiware games like La Mulana or Super Meat Boy too.

I would like a more mature title from Nintendo.

No, not in gore, violence or an M rating. I'm talking about a game like the first Metroid Prime or Ico or something similar. Xenoblade doesn't really hit that note for me, at least not yet.

surprises? wasn't expecting any off the content you showed (whatever they show on zelda has to be a surprise :P). but you should move golden sun DS to the first part. they unveiled the game separately last year, and said the game will be released this year, which means it's time for our info shower on the game. they'll probably do something like last year, an "RPG tag team segment", where they talk about the awesomeness of DS and RPGs and then show black & white, and then golden sun DS. and after that they can draw everyone's attention to where you can play those games other than the DS, if you know what i mean.

They have pretty much spilled the beans with everything like 3DS,Pikmin and Zelda. I huess the only reason we are getting excited is because of Zelda which I find sad. I'd like to know what sort of line up they will have for the 3DS.
