Proffesor Layton is amazing, one of favourites on the DS, so that would definately be a good choice. Tetris DS and Picross are also good, so I would reccomend them as well.
Tetris only because it has more than 'classic' mode. Didn't find Meteos' fast pace very exciting or fun. Picross is a great game, having recently picked it up. Zoo Keeper is a bejeweled style game that I enjoyed (old game). Really depends on the type of puzzle game you like. Fast and reflexive, or slow and mental. Lastly, I didn't understand what makes Puzzle Quest so great (as a puzzle game), so I quit.
