DS Lite Screen Melting

I foolishly left the DS in my friend's car compartment, thinking it would be fine there...Left it for a school day. Now there's this black splotch in the center of my top LCD screen, I know i was really stupid--don't rub it in.

Question is, will it POSSIBLY go away over time, or is it a permanent LCD screen damage? I haven't turned on the system yet, since i fear it'll do more crap to the system.

(Also, it wasn't in direct sunlight, but the car was really hot.)

What you might wanna do is actually TURN ON the system, to see how it is handling. If the games play ok, then your problems is solved. If not, you need to get it to a repair shop, or preferably call or e-mail nintendo for instructions.
