Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze: What would you like to see?

So we now know that Retro is making a new Donkey Kong Country game and that it is entitled "Tropical Freeze."  There has, of course, been some discussion about if Retro made the right choice in developing this instead of Metrioid or something new ... and there has also been some discussion about the subtitle being terrible or sounding like a flavor of icee or snow cone.

IN THIS TOPIC, however, lets put that all aside and discuss what we would / would not like to see in the game.

Here's my list:

1. They're using an oxygen meter for underwater portions.  It would be neat if this were used to create some tension in underwater portions of levels -- do you have enough 02 to explore that trench, or will you need to resurface. 

2. A Kremling cameo.  It's good that Retro allowed the creative freedom make their own antagonists (and the vikings certainly have more personality than the tikis) but the fact remains that many consider K. Rool was one of Rare's more endearing characters and it would be a nice bit of fan service to give throw in a cameo. 

3. More "animal buddies."  They added some nice variety to the originals.  I'd love to see a cast of 3 or 4 in this game.  (as far as returning buddies I liked engaurde and the spider the best ... also maybe something that lets you jump high like the frog in the first game or the springy-snake in the second)

4. Bring back Funky Kong and/or give us a new Kong.  Obviously people love Funky Kong.  New DK games often introduced (for better or for worse) new Kongs ... Retro might as well try thier hand at this.

5. If Cranky returns -- try harder with his dialogue. Sorry but his sayings were pretty lame in DKCR :P

EDIT:  For point 3.  What if "animal buddies" came in pairs -- one for each player?  With Rambi's speed it makes sense that both players would ride him together but with other animal buddies it might make more sense to allow each player their own.

A better title. Tropical Freeze is pretty lame as far as titles go. I'd be fine with DKC Returns 2 honestly. That and I'd like to see the disc inside my Wii U already lol

I want to see the old Rare magic back in the series. Not to say that Retro's vision is bad or anything like that, but Returns just wasn't the same thing. Getting David Wise back as the composer is a good start, though.

DKR2 sounds stupid too. 'Returns' represents the return of DKC after many years. 'Returns 2' sounds like 'returns...again...after 3 years.'

the name is fine. Please for the love of god let me use the pro controller on it i bought it on 3ds becuase i couldnt stand the waggle controlls. also it would be cool to throw in the other kongs and have them have different abilities like dixies hair swing, maybe to pair them up to reach hidden areas Dk cant get to

Yeah more animal buddies would be nice to see. The shark for example. I like the title Tropical Freeze.

Return more animal buddies, and bring more variety back to the bonus areas. In the original DKC games the bonus areas to get Kong letters and coins and stuff were really varies, in DKCR it was the same game with varying platforms..

I had completely forgotten about the bonus areas. They were really generic. Nothing like the fun variety of the bonus areas of the first three games, especially 2 and 3. They really need to address that.

I know what you mean. Rare games really had this unique, quirky personality to them that really hasn't been emulated. David Wise composing is a great start, though. I mean he's the primary reason I'm hyped for this game. His music really defined DKC 1 and 2. The Viking enemies are also a step closer to the Kremlings -- more intersting than the Tikis, at least. ... and the game just looks beautiful, the environments seem really alive.

Yeah, I would sometimes actively avoid bonus levels because they were so uninteresting and repetitive compared to the rest of the game.

DKCR was too different from the original trilogy. That means bringing back K. Rool and the Kremlings and using the original hit system that had players switching between two kongs, etc. Bringing back Dave Wise is definitely a step in the right direction. So basically I'd like either for them to stay true to the original games or call it Donkey Kong World or something, 'cause it's not that DKCR was bad... it just wasn't Donkey Kong Country

Since water levels are there this time, I'd just like to see some more animals you can ride. Expresso (the ostrich) and Enguarde (the swordfish) were awesome..

I'd like to see the barrel rocket stages (or some evolution of them) return in Tropical Freeze. It gave the game a bit more variety.

I have just one simple request, give me the option to not have to use any cumbersome waggle controls. The waggle controls completely ruined Donkey Kong Country Returns for me. If I'm forced to use waggle controls in Tropical Freeze then I will not be buying it.

There were some pretty bad boss fights in DKCR, but I actually thought the crab trio (Scurvy Crew) was delightful. Mole Patrol was pretty good too. Thankfully pro controller support seems probable -- since playing with the gamepad is alread officially supported.

I thought the boss battles were good. Compared to the NSMB games, the boss battles were amazing.

I really liked the bosses in DKCR too.
