Does your pointer on the Wii ever twitch while moving the remote? Mine does, and it's reeeeeeeeeally annoying. Does anyone else have this problem? I think I'm going to call Nintendo, but I'm just making sure that for some off chance that it may be normal.

So, just tell me if your pointer on the screen is really smooth, or twitchy like mine. Thanks!

One morning I turned on the Wii and the Cursor was going nuts all over the screen. Turns out that because I had the TV facing a big window, there was a huge glare that screwed around with the wireless sensor. Does your cursor still twitch when there's no sunlight?

When playing Red Steel it does. But this is because of a glitch in the game, not the system itself (it doesn't happen when the Wiimote's sound is turned off). None of my other Wii games twitch.

3 to 10 feet is the recomendation. Though it seems to get twitchy on the outer edge of this range.

Now I suppose if you replaced the sensor bar with a pair of *whatever* that can emit a stronger IR light, you'd get better range on the thing. Alternatively, you could just try moving the bar closer to you.

in my experience, it seems that during the day twitching can be caused by a lot of ambient light so you'll want to go to the menu and turn down the sensitivity. but at night, when there's little light to interfere, you wanna turn up the sensitivity to stop the twitching

What he said, you're probably too far away. I've stood across the living room from the kitchen where my Sensor Bar is and that happens to it.

I went to see if my pointer twitches and the funny thing is that itactually twitches a fair amount while I'm in the Mii Channel. What I did was lay the Wii Remote on a table in front of the sensor bar and the damn little hand/cursor will twitch, and I'm not even touching it. It doesn't happen anywhere else and gameplay doesn't seem to be affected. I tried it with two other controllers with lights on and off, in close range, and it still does it, but like I said it's only really noticablein the Mii Channel.

I get twitching if there are flat reflective surfaces near the tv or sensor bar or in between the sensor bar and the wiimote. The signal from the sensor bar simply reflects onto a flat reflective surface and screws with you wiimote. Direct sunlight from outside does this as well, the wiimote picks it up and starts twiching.

Unavoidable I guess, just think about the positioning and light sources when setting up your wii thats all.

It could be batteries going dead, it could be the glare from a window(like someone said), it could be the sensitivity of the sensor bar not set correctly...

I have had it happen before, and I found out that the batteries were going low...I think less than half power left in them and they started causing the cursor to go haywire somewhat.

I think you should try to get the Nyko wireless sensor bar. It is like having three wired sensor bar stacked together. It can pick up the remote at least 30 feet... Only 20 bucks..

Mine twitches when it is 'too far' from the sensor bar.... personally I think it's range is too limited due to this problem.

It might be the remote seeing another light around the area of the sensor bar. Go to the settings and set the sensitivity of the pointer, you should be able to calibrate it to be able to only see the sensor bar.

Best way to fix this is to go into your wii settings and go into the sensor bar settings, choose sensitivity and have a look at the screen. If there is more than 2 white blinking blobs on the screen then you have interference. basically you need to get rid of this interference, it could be light or something like a cordless telephone.

happens when I'm to the extreme right, but that's because the LED's are far too close together on the LED detector to distinguish exactly where you are pointing, same happens if you haven't calibrated right and your far away

occasionally I'll be sitting there and my cursor will teleport across the screen but it's not like I sit there and all it does is bounce around. Just every once in a while and I've learned to deal with it. It doesn't ruin my gaming experience.

Do you have any mirrors or lights or reflective surfaces like doorknobs? Take your tv remote and start pointing at various surfaces and see if you can still work the tv. You may be surprised at the IR reflections occuring in the tv room.

It happened a lot to my wii, what you do is put shades or pull down blinds over any windows in the room your wii is in, sun reflections and window reflections will make ghost IRs appear in your sensitivity options. There should only be two lights that show there. Thats my best advice and if it helps, set your sensitivity up/down to 4.

I didn't read all the posts, but just in case it hasn't been mentioned yet....... Don't sit too far from the TV. Adjust adjust the sensitivity apropriately. The more sensitive, the farther you can sit, but the wiimote becomes more likely to pick up stray light that will cause your pointer to twitsh (less sensitivity means you have to sit closer, but stray light is less likely to screw you up). You want to find the lowest sensitivity possible for the distance you normally sit (make sure the lights are blinking normally on the settings screen). If it's really bright outside and you have windows near the TV, close the shades. You should also turn off any extra lighting near the TV. Good luck.
