I just got New Super Mario for DS, and so far its pretty easy/kinda boring. I was wondering if it gets more challenging after world five, or should I just return it to get another game; and if so, what game??

Thanks

Personally, I just think NSMB lacks the heart of the old SMB series. If you want a Mario style game that has heart and creativity, try Yoshi's Island DS. It's really a lot of fun!

I just didn't think NSMB was that fun, honestly. If you've played that much, you probably won't start to suddenly enjoy it more. I prefer Super Mario 64 DS.

Huh, and here I was thinking of buying it soon. Why is it so boring, exactly?

No real way to describe it. I can't put my finger on it... it just doesn't have the same feel as SMB 1, 2, or 3. Super Mario World was the last truly great 2D mario game I think. This one just feels like a standard side scroller that happens to have Mario and Luigi in it. It' just not that fun.

Again, I highly suggest Yoshi's Island DS. It's a sort of sequel/retelling of Yoshi's Island for the SNES and it's a fantastic game. It's much more creative and a lot more fun. Plus, it just seems to have that familiar feel that the older Mario games have and that New Super Mario Bros. lacks.

Yeah... I think Im gunna return it. Its pretty lame. There's no/little challenge involved, and as mentioned before, its almost like they took too big of a turn, and missed the part where they were to incorporate the feel of most Mario games. It's not worth $35 (US) in my opinion. I do recommend (if you can find it) Super Mario World super mario advanced 2. It is a GBA game, and is probably hard to find right now, but I've logged many hours into it. It has replay value, and many many levels, so it's fun.

Btw, Is Mario Party DS any good?

World 8 is the most challenging, more challenging than world 5,

you should not return it. it is overall a easy game though. it's a great DS game and worthy to be in your collection, also try getting star coins for more chalenge? and look up the cheat where you can't go backwards in the level.

To be honest, the game is pretty over rated. It's a good game the first time through, all though it's boring.

I would return and get a longer game with more reply value.

Hey korino to answer your question about mario party ds, it is actually a pretty fun game, but I just wish it had wifi :(.. a lot of the mini games are pretty addicting though.

It does have a boring factor to it. It just didn't offer enough of a challenge for me and I just played it to get through it. I thought I enjoyed it, but looking back... not as much as I thought I did. :P ...plus Fireballs = win

It's an ok game if you play it straight through

If you try to complete the game completely it's a blast

NSMB is my favorite game on the DS along with Yoshi's Island DS.

Try to find all Hidden Coins(The second coin in 7-1 is hard).

I couldn't get past world 3. The game seems fun, and it is, believe me. The game has some cool features, like the use of the blue shell mario. Other than that...it just looks like a really nice graphical super mario game, for the DS of course.

I think I may just rent it before I decide to buy it, and end up buying Yoshi's Island instead. I didn't realize so many people didn't think it was too fun.

It gets a little more challenging as you go on, but you'll never feel like you're getting your butt whooped, like how SMW always did. On the other hand, like many before me have said, Yoshi's Island DS is great. It is challenging. The levels are longer, too.

I wouldn't sell NSMB back, because the game is still good and the minigames are fun to have, but I'd get YIDS if you don't already have it.

Coming from a person that has beat the game (AND all secret levels!): I bought the game on the day it was released, and it took me about a week and a half to beat the whole thing, not including secret levels. The real challenge is to beat World 8. And when you think you are finished...
