I would love to see Neo-Geo games downloadable on the Revolution. When the Neo-Geo system first came out, it was very expensive and the cartridges were the size of video tapes and cost $250 or even more! This would be a good chance to sell those games in downloadable form for a mass market price if SNK were to make a deal with Nintendo.

Yes that would be sick, Metal Slug would be at the top of the list.

If Nintendo wants to turn the virtual console as an iTunes of video games, they'll need Neo-Geo.

In 1 month and 4 days, we'll know more about the virtual console.

Yes.

I emailed the guys at SNK (they made the Neo Geo) and he said that although they are not yet working on the Virtual Console they are certainly interested in it now that they have been made aware of it.

That would be cool, but not sure if SNK would do that because they release their games out for new consoles, but I think it would be good for them to distribute this over the virtual console, but I wouldn't count on it.

Well the only Neo Geo games I've played are the Metal Slug games, but those games alone are enough to warrant the purchase of a Neo Geo... Getting them hella cheap on the VC would be even better

I think the actual # of games that Neo Geo has made would really discourage the ability to buy them on the Virtual Console. Yes, they make a few decent games, but the catalog is relatively small and besides that, mainstream people generally don't know much about Neo Geo games in the first place. It would be interesting to add it to the library, but I don't think that it would be necessary or warrant a purchase.

Being an avid fighting game fan I would most certainly enjoy SNK games on the Revolution, but only if they did them right.

#1. More than anything you have to have joysticks, I'm sure 3rd parties can handle those, if not maybe SNK can release a stick on their own

#2. Online play between the games, hell if MAME can do it why can't Virtual Console?  You put King of the Fighters, Metal Slug, Fatal Fury, Breaker's Revenge, Last Blade 2 online....

Sorry I got carried away earlier, but it is sad how SNK games have fared so poorly here in the USA.  With the recent cancellation of KOF 94 remake for Xbox, one wonders if releasing these old games on the store shelves is profitable, but with Virtual Console there's a chance.

PS Capcom is having trouble with bringing Street Fighter 2 to Xbox Live Arcade, if they're having trouble, just imagine SNK's woes on Virtual Console...doesn't look good people.

If Nintendo doesn't get SNK on board with the Virtual Console, than they are basically giving SNK to add to Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade library.  With the abundance of fighting games in SNK's library, this would be a lost opportunity to fill in a big gap that was missing with the GC.

I'd love arcade-perfect versions of Magical Drop II and III.
I'd actually download those for the VC.  I have yet to dl anything.
