Will it look as good on the 3DS?
What about the controls?>
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Controls would be automatically better since it's really unlikely they'll keep the crappy motion controls, and map them to a button as they should. Will probably look about on par, though the 3D has the potential to be great. Would rather have had a sequel, but I'll pick it up sometime.darkspineslayer
Same,a sequel would be better.
Or a 3D game,for that matter.
The controls...no waggle?.....:D
I dont know how I feel about this though. Â If it is better I will buy it, but a direct port probably not.
The game is not for you it is for me. I did not get because other games were out and by the time I could get it they did not have it in stores. So this is for me.Meh. Was hoping the 3DS DK was going to be a new game, not a port. Dunno why companies think I would buy the same game twice.

This also would have been awesome!I would have liked a remake or sequel of Donkey Kong 64 instead.Â

After watching the 3D trailer on my 3DS, it looks decent for the system but there's a noticeable visual downgrade from the original. You can tell the poly count his dropped significantly.
The 3D looked like it was implemented well, though. It'll be nice to play this game without motion controls so I'm sure it'll be worth a purchase.
Well, first of all, it was expected. All the DKC games returned in a handheld port, DKC1-3 came to GBA
Â
Second, it surprisingly looks good in the Eshop trailer, looks VERY identical graphical terms to the Wii save for a few fizz and the Wii version having better polish.
Â
and Third, WHY NOT, DKCR was one hell of a Good REAL old school hard 2.5D Platformer(Along with Rayman origins might i say) thats not a retro inide game, and the 3DS has the added bonus of no Waggle for those who didnt like it in the Wii version.Â
The 3D video looked gorgeous but I already spent a ridiculous amount of time with this game on the Wii. No need to repurchase it for the 3DS.
Should have made a new game. Hopefully it has new content at the least, also online co-op would be nice and even better if it was single card play.

It looked pretty damn good, just watched the trailer. I might have to pick this up since I never played the Wii version.
pretty lazy of them to just make a port of a game that came out just a couple years ago. quick cash I guess.
I'll buy it since I never played it on Wii, but I would much prefer a sequel (or even remake) to DK64. Best DK game I've ever played, and one of my favorites on the N64.

Nah, from my experience good 2D platformers are almost always better designed than good 3D platformers. I feel the third dimension takes away from the precision of the level design.
P.S. I'm kind of excited about this game just because it won't have the waggle roll. That really put a damper on things.
I kinda like the idea. I hated playing DKCR with the sideways Wii mote. So the 3DS will provide better control. 3D should be nice in short bursts.

Let's hope the graphics aren't butchered,either.

There are people who own a Wii who haven't played it, and there are people who don't even own a Wii. Â Your personal library does not equal everyone elses... a concept very hard to get through to most people. Ports and remakes can be great for gamers as it allows us to revisit older games and allow new generations to play past favourites (such as the Oracle games coming to eShop). I do have to say remakes and ports of recent games aren't always the best option, but they are allowing for a larger audience.Â
