There is no doubt that The Conduit has potential, but in essence, all unreleased games have potential, so at this point, The Conduit is nothing more than a game with unwarranted hype. The developer has no credible history and the new screenshots look terrible. Wait until a hands-on preview from a respectable journalist before getting excited.

Yeah, the screenshots don't look "terrible". The graphics still need some polish, but as I said, if you look at some of the textures on Fords hands and weapons, the new screenshots show improvement over the first few that were released. The enemies and environments still need some work, but they have plenty of time to clean it all up and get it running at the full 60FPS they're striving for.
I agree wholeheartedly with your comment about them having no credible history, but thats why this game is important to them and why they are putting so much effort into it. They NEED this game to establish themselves as a true developer and not just some company people can go to to make licensed shovelware.
Unwarranted hype? I completely disagree with you on that point. Sorry, its not a port, a remake, or a party game. It's a completely new IP, aimed at this so-called "hardcore" crowd, that the Wii desperately needs. That alone warrants the hype. Then you add in the online multi-player. Which is yet another area that has barely been touched upon for Wii save for a minor sprinkling of titles here and there. They are also boasting controls to match the quality of Prime 3 and MOHH2, which are some of the best damn controls this side of a PC FPS. If they can pull those two points off, twist the cliche invasion story in some unique way, plus give the enemies decent AI, have a good physics system in place, AND clean up the textures a bit more, then this game is worth ALL the hype.
I'm not going to sit here and say whether it will be great or not, because NOONE KNOWS. It could turn out to all just be bull[expletive] postering on HV's part. But then again, it could be a game to rival the greats. All points so far are leading to it being a title EVERY Wii owner should, at the very least, take a look at based on the merits I just talked about.
Yes, they are an underdog company, but they are taking a risk that most of the big name developers are too chicken**** to even bother with. THAT is the reason for the hype.
I remain cautiously optimistic and if it sucks? At least they did what no other dev would and gave it their best shot. Maybe that will be enough for a "credible" developer to step up, do what they should have been doing all along, and create all-new IP's strictly focused on Wii's unique control scheme and architecture.
