Pokemon Soul Silver is coming out soon (Oh! The Nostalgia!) and I have this urge to go back and play some pokemon games, I am thinking of playing pokemon XD, one of the cool features about XD was you could get a johto starter (this could be transfered to a GBA game and then to the DS using Pal Park). Well my question is, using the same GBA to gamecube controller, while playing XD on the Wii, would it recognise the GBA.

Since it recognises controllers I don't see why not, but I would just like to know in advance as my gamecube is away somewhere collecting dust...

Yep, I've tried it and it works the same. The Wii is a fully functional gamecube

Yup, that's because the Wii IS a Gamecube

Everything that was in the Gamecube was put into the Wii so it's a perfect replacement for the Gamecube in every way

EXCEPT (dunndunndunnnnnn)

The GameBoy player doesn't work in it which is awful and a reason to keep the Gamcube still hooked up

It should work although the gameboy player doesn't work on the Wii. It would be awesome if it did though. Nintendo needs to make one for the Wii with DS game support. I wouldn't mind having to use the DS as the controller....

I'm pretty sure you can. The Wii should be able to do anything the Gamecube can do as long as it doesn't require the bottom ports.

Some people like playing games on a bigger screen vs a smaller screen.

Yeah and sometimes it's just the fact that people get to watch you play...
