GameSpot. They have high standards and don't give out high scores like candy like those wimps at IGN.

I use both, i like to check everybody for reviews, as game reviews depend on who is doing it (i mean reviewer not site, both sites have some editors who hand out good grades to crud and are underscore games), but IGN has gotten better for news, as i dislike gamespots newish design. I perfer the forums here though, as IGN is harder to navigate for them. I also dislike how gamespot seems to have gotten rid of burning questions, as i still check the mailbag at ign fairly often.

IGN for everything, I just go to this forum to see if someone has found news that I haven't heard about.Ā  Theres way to many arguments here for me.Ā  IGN goes more in depth with their reviews, and they get more exlusive interviews and previews.Ā  I also like IGN's site layout a lot, I can find everything pretty fast.

Gamespots reviews are crap and their videos are of such low blurry res that I can't even see anything.Ā  IGN gives better reviews and better data.Ā  Also IGN is more up to date.

I like the setup on IGN better actually.Ā  But I really like the way forums are set up on Gamespot.Ā  It's nice to get opinions from other gamers.

I just like Gamespot for the forums. Aside from that I like IGN with everything else. Better video quality, better layout, more news, more channels and you'll just hang around the site longer.

GS has high standards for games so if they rate it high.. you know it rocks.. IGN rates games like... i dont know... a kitty festival... 9.9, 9.8 and so on.. hell.. they gave a Barbie game 7.8.. how bad is that?

IGN is way, way, way, way Better then gamespot. Their shows are better, their podcasts are better, the editors are cooler and more involved and their reviews are better. You guys trying to say you like Gamespots reviews because they're tougher, what the hell is the point of having tough reviews when they're so inconsistent? The whole point of reviews is to help you make an informed decision and Gamespot does a poor job of doing that. For example, if you look at all the past games for the PS2 and have them ranked by scores, you'll see tons of crappier games ranked higher then solid titles. The list has no semblence of a real list based on quality. However, if you do the same at IGN, you'll more or less get the games on that system ranked in order of quality.

Depends.Ā  Gamespot usually has people who review on all gaming platforms and tries to be as little biased as possible.Ā  IGN is better if you're more on the hardcore side and want an editor's opinion who specializes in only one platform (not to say Matt Cassamina isn't a 360 fan by any means, since he openly addresses it all the time).Ā  Overall, Gamespot usually likes to review the game as an overall product, giving gameplay back-seat -attention to sound, graphics, presentation, etc. while IGN is [normally] vice-versa.Ā  Still, I'll get the occassional review that I normally agree or disagree with.

I like IGN's site better overall.Ā  The previews and news are better and they are quicker to post new stuff.Ā  I like GS's reviews and forums better although the forums here tend to have more kidsĀ and idiotsĀ than the IGN forums.Ā  But there is more activity on these boards
