Not a bad collection - but I bet it’ll be full priced whereas I know the X1 version is digital and much, much cheaper.

Personally, I bought the latest Flashback Gold console because you simply cannot be engaged in a 2600 game without an Atari Joystick.

right,

xbox1/ps4 already got something similar but it was released in two volumes. each one costs 20$. so thats 40$ for both.

atari flashback vol 1 and atari flashback volume 2. however each one only had 50 games. so thats 100 games total for 40$.

BUT

switch has 150. thats 50 more ;-) and only 40$. so you get 50 more games for same price.

edit: oh and as for playing with an atari controller... yea thats pretty cool but the convenience of having them on your console is pretty nice too. they play fine with a dpad.

@KBFloYd: While I don’t know about the ps4 version, the X1 title is regularly discounted. It’s probably on sale now.

@KBFloYd: Not less games. This Switch version is all three volumes that have already been on competing consoles for about a year. Each volume costs 14.99 so in total it’ll cost about $45.00 for the library. It’ll most likely discount tomorrow or sometime around the holidays.

In essence, this is the same product and value competing consoles already have.

I would like to know where you cane up with that $40 price point though.

on physical media vol1,2,3 will cost 60$ on xbox one. 20$ each volume. also its 3 different cases. switch is all in 1 cart so less space consuming also.

switch is actually the better buy in this case

I will probably get this if it's not a limited print run. Between what I spent on BF/Pokemon bundle recently, and Smash coming out the same week there's no way I'll get it at release.

Years ago there was either an Atari or Activision compilation on the PSP and it was a great melody of games and bonus features that included old commercials for the games. If this one offered the same features, I'd buy it ASAP but I'm sure it doesn't.

@Solaryellow: Not sure about that one, but the Atari and Williams/Midway collections for PS1 were chockablock with extra features like video interviews. Oh, and then there was the Activision anthology on PS2/XB that used a teen’s bedroom as the central hub, complete with period-accurate music like Missing Persons’ “Words.”

Wish publishers could bring some of this back, instead of just another barebones release.

@KBFloYd: They just released Volume 3 for the ps4/X1 so that Switch version is a pretty good deal IMO.
