I wanna keep it as a memorabilia. This is probably the console I invested the most money in(accessories, games).

I'm definitely keeping it, limited edition red 25th anniversary model :) I also like seeing how long I've played each game for some reason and wouldn't want to lose that :P

Yes, I will keep my Wii. I still have my NES, N64, Gamecube, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, DS, DSi (the pokemon black bundle one), and 3DS, but then again that is the current gen :P So anyway, I dont see why I would stop.

It'll go in storage since it won't be worth anything really. Cafe better have Wii support!

I don't even know what happed to my past generation consoles. I never thought of keeping them whenever I would get the newst console. Now this is what is on my mind. Probably because the 7th generation is my first experience of owning consoles as an adult. When I had those past consoles, I was still a kid living at home. And instead of my parents buying games for me, I use my own money now.

I'll keep mine for the VC and WiiWare games I have on there. Unless there is some way to transfer them from Wii to Wii2 when it's available, I don't want those great games to go to waste.

I'm keeping it for sure. Not becaise l'm a collector or anything, but because I don't think that the Wii 2 will have backwards compatibility for gamecube and/or gamecube controller sockets. The only Wii game I own is SSB Brawl, otherwise I only use the Wii to play gamecube games. :)

Same here although I might do what I did with my GCN is give that to my sister.

Although I didn't want to give my sister it she borrowed it in early 2006 and hasn't returned it yet.

I'll probably set up the wii in another room in my house. I don't see a reason to sell it when i could probably only get $50 or $75.

Yup I will keep my wii since it was my first home console (purchased it when it first came out). I was always a PC/handheld gamer until I got hooked on RE4 while playing my over my friend's house.

Unfortunately I have not been playing it much recently but I just purchased Metriod M (for $15 on bestbuy.com ) so I hope it will re-spark my interest :)

yes and no. yes i will keep it. but i will be carrying out the traditional disassembly that i do when i retire a console. it wont be working afterwards. thats assuming the wii2 is fully backward compatible of course (which im sure it will be).

Well since it's been reported as backwards compatible I don't think there would be a need for it anymore, but maybe if I could find a place for it in a room without a game system already.

Mine too. I get the occasional "system memory is corrupt message", the occasional disc drive restart your system error, and my SD card slot is broke so my card is stuck in there. At least it still functions so it's like having a 16GB HDD. No one in their right mind would buy my Wii, so I guess I'm stuck with it. I'll probably sell my Gamecube though as I don't need 3 devices that play Gamecube games, even though it's not worth that much. I can understand people wanting to keep systems for nostalgia, but I can only store so many consoles in my house. If I can play the old games on a new system I'd rather get money for it, with the exception of the SNES. I'm never selling that thing.

If this new console has backwards compatibility and I can transfer my account purchases from my Wii to the new console then I'm trading it in a heartbeat. If not then I'll keep it for my NES/SNES/N64 downloads.

It it uses disc I don't know why it shouldn't at least be able to play those discs also if it is BC with the Wii it should be BC with the GCN since they have similar architecture it will be easy to have BC for both of those systems.

Also they are going off of some of the rumors that stated that it will be Backwards Compatible with the Wii and GCN.

Not the same thing at all. System dimensions and digital size of the game play a bigger role in handheld BC if you ask me. Stick four controller ports in front of the N6 and there you go. And if they do not do that, then I hope there will be a peripheral for it.

If Wii 2 has backwards compatibility and I can transfer my wiiware and vc games then my wii is on ebay. But even if it does not do one of the two my wii may still end up on ebay once I get Wii2.

Wiiware/VC games will be able to be transferred. You can already transfer DSi games to the 3DS (well you will be able to in about a month anyway) and they can already be transferred to another Wii through Nintendo. It's pretty obvious they will be able to move over. The game saves with WFC data is another question though. I hope they do allow that to be transferred. I'd hate to lose my Mario Kart and Smash Bros data.

I'm not even sure what I'd do with it. Sell it? Nah, everyone will be selling them when Cafe comes out so it'll be worth so little. I guess it depends on the VC games whether I put it in storage or not. If I can just transfer them, then away it goes. Or maybe I could just put it in another room. It'll still play netflix!

You could play gamecube games on the wii. It has the controller ports and the memory card ports. Just open the top of the wii near the power button.

Is not the same. GBA port was removed since DSi and there's the chance they can be added to 3DS VC service I see no reason to leave out GC compatibility as it is pretty much the same architecture than Wii Even if they add GC to download service like the Xbox downloadable titles for 360, we'll need a port for GC controllers or brand new WaveBird2 (BT enabled) to play them. In any case, I see no reason to leave GC compatibility out Regards
