I have been watching some videos for those games and to me, they look realy boring. Why do they score so high on GS and what makes them so fun?

Castlevania is an awesome series, one thing i feel that separates it from other side scrolling action games is the map. A lot of side scrollers are level based, and so there isn't the sense of exploration, though order of eclesia kinda ruined that whole thing. Another area it that makes it stand out is the RPG aspect of it, it really is the perfect blend of side scrolling action and RPG.

The Castlevania series is one of the best. The combat is fun, collecting items in the game is fun, and there's a lot of replay value.

Everything is really styled and the production values are very high. You can roam anywhere in game you want, and when you gain new abilities you can go to other areas. It's an adventure game with RPG elements that brings a lot of satisfaction of progression.

The series is awesome. Now go to the store to buy all of them.

Yes but they all difficult where if you try to beat the game dying you would have to have good reflexes, item management, and do a lot of farming and exploration.

Very fun games, the only part that i'm growing to dislike is the constant backtracking which became a staple for castlevania games for a long time. Beyond that, they are good because they are one of the very few series that doesn't seem half baked.

They're not bad, I liked it, until I got lost and just stopped playing it. I only played Dawn of Sorrow though, it was pretty good.

You really can't go wrong with any Castlevania game from Symphony of the Night and thereafter (2D games anyway), but the ones I enjoyed the most are Dawn of Sorrow (it helps to have played Aria of Sorrow on GBA to 'get' the story) and Portrait of Ruin. I like all of them, but I thought PoR's multi-character feature and level structure was handled extremely well. The games never get old.

Yes they are fun. I borrowed the first two from a friend and ended up purchasing them for myself later. Grinding and collecting all the items along with the interesting monsters and story make it a worthwhile purchase.

Dawn of Sorrow. Portrait of Ruin is no bueno and if you like DoS, then you'll enjoy Order of E's difficulty and challenge. What's so great about Castlevania? The same thing that makes Zelda or Mario or Advance Wars so great - they're fun. If you like side-scrollers, quit watching videos and just go pick it up. If it's not your cup of tea, you have a problem..

Dawn of Sorrow. Order of Ecclesia is better, but it's extremely hard. Try DoS first then maybe Order of Ecclesia... Or Portrait of Ruin, they're all great.

I never liked those feminine looking main characters, but the games themselves are awesome although you might end up wandering in dracula's castle a bit too long sometimes.

I don't know if your question pertains only to DS games, but let's not forget the granddaddy of all the current Castlevania genre: Symphony of the Night. I kept my old PS for a few select oldie favorites and SotN is one of them.

But yeah, they're pretty fun. A great combo of RPG and side-scrolling platform with replay value, which is pretty rare.
