Just got my system this morning and the system update took about an hour+ long...which i expected because i heard that update was about 1GB in size

but right now i'm downloading an update for Nintendo Land and it's been downloading for about 15 mins now and still says it has about 50 mins remaining....NO WAY a patch for Nintendo Land is that big

is this just launch week traffic jam? or does the system just really take that long to download updates?

I only updated Nintendo Land on Monday night and I believe it took about 1 to 2 minutes, of course this was at about 1am. My guess is that you may be right on the traffic jam since my console update was nowhere near the time others have experienced here.

Could be traffic. When I updated my Nintendo Land on Monday, it took like 20 minutes and I have a crappy 3Mb/1Mb connection. I believe it was around a 200MB update.

It will keep downloading while your playing so you can just click start software and the next time you play it should install it for you.

The massive main update took about an hour, the update to the individual games took meer minutes.

My updates for Black Ops 2 and NSMBU took about ten minutes each, which did seem a bit long to me.

If you go into the system settings and look at how large the patches are, it's quite surprising. Black Ops II took the longest for me and it's actually a 80 mb patch. The others are about 40, so it makes me wonder. BLOPS II on the 360 was only 4 mb in size by comparison. Are they compressed at all or do the games really need that large of a patch?

Updates for this system are quite dismally slow. Really wish they would have just put an ethernet port on this damn thing also instead of only wireless.
