hmmm i own both of these games, and i think advance wars days of ruin is much better than AW:DS. The graphics is great, the gameplay is great, the multiplayer is awesome (wifi wohoo), and the story i think is much deeper and better than AW:DS. but don't get me wrong i also enjoyed the first one but i think (so far) AW:DoR is somewhat better...

Well, I don't actually have the game yet, but it looks better. I'll get back to you with my actual impressions sometime later this week.

Even if you have the game, I think based on your possible number of gameplay hours thus far, it's really hard to make a valid statement on the matter.

Agreed. It's really tough to make a definite judgement on the game after so little time

Though, I will say, I like the new look and an Advance Wars game with Wi-fi is like peanut butter and chocolate

I actually managed to snag it from my local store on pre-order. I have been playing online for several hours and before that with my friends locally. This game is leaps and bounds above Dual Strike, in every possible way. It's much more fun, and everything moves much faster, so games dont take hours to finish.

No. Multiplayer is Multi Card Only *goes to check* Yep. It's multicard only.

Main Menu says:

Single DS Play

Multi-Card PLay

Nintendo WFC

Design Room

Records

Options

I'm going to try Nintendo WFC later.

I'm playing the game as i'm posting here, the game is really great i must say. The new direction of the storyline it's trying to tell in the campaign is pretty nice and makes it less repeative.
The only thing this game doesnt have is download play, which really doesnt pose as a problem since u can always pass around the DS for single DS+cart play.
Those interested might wanna check out my review on the game. =)
Going off to lunch for now, i'm gonna gobble it up real quick so i can get back to playing xD

Hehe. Although I only played the first 2 GBA AW, I'll probably buy DOR when I have the money. Is it worth buying AW:DS, if get a DOR?

After going door to door to every house in the known universe, I have determined that yes you are the only one who thinks that AW:DoR is better than AW:DS. There were a few people in third world countries that agreed with you, but then we realized they didn't speak english so we disregarded there votes as it turns out they thought I was trying to offer them the pen and clipboard.

edit... after much anguish I've disregarded my above results as I've been informed that most people in the known universe have yet to even get there hands on the game.

I think it's like many of you are saying, most of the people havent got the chance to get their hands on the game in their area.
I wont spoil any of the game for you, but i'm just gonna say that they have revamped a huge part of the game, and after going through those new stuff, i must say i like it a lot!
This is definitly better than than DualStrike in quite a few ways. =)

i have the game already. and to be frank, its awesome. why would anyone think AW DoR is worse than AWDS? they crammed loads of new content, didn't mess around (much) with the gameplay. online battling. download maps, upload maps. while still including all previous game's features.

I have yet to play it./..picking it up today... but from what I seen it looks alot better than Dual Strike. MY least favorite part of the previous games was the COs, far too powerful...there a lot weaker now, and you need to be a lot more tactical when using them.

I'm now 11hours into the game(according to the recorded "history") and i must say this game is really great.

Some points i'd like to talk about without serious spoilers:
AI is kinda improved now, and doesnt take baits so easily.
The way how CO's abilties and powers work now is pretty nice i must say, and i'll just say it's almost totally different from before.
Levelling system of units might change how u're gonna do things in some situations. You probably not want your units to die too much now, as it strengthens the enemy. And you'll wanna let your high rank unit live as long as possible. This really makes us think more about whether we should join units up, send them back to heal and stuff like that.
There are new units, new terrain, new buildings, the way how some units work has been changed, some units have been taken out.
There is no longer WarRoom, but the Campaign mode actually doubles as one.

Now that it is actually a few days into the week and people have it, I'll go ahead and say that Days of Ruin is by far the best in the series. I've played em all, and Dual Strike was my favorite until now. I'm loving some of the adjusted prices, the new units that are actually useful *cough*piperunners*cough*, new art styler, and I've found no problem with the online play at all. And now, you can't be completely screwed over by CO powers :) EDIT: Thought I'd say something about a previous post too...

[QUOTE="twisted_Sisti"]can you play that game single card or no, and can you already get it?Snakdatsmlzbak

The only thing you could do on Single Card was the real time game, which wasn't very exciting at all and I would hope people didn't waste too much of their time playing that over the turn-based game. And if the person's referring to the fact that you can't play the full game on wireless single card, that doesn't make much sense at all.
