I know this is wishful thinking, but I wish the stereotype of Wii players having to run around the room flapping and waving their hands around like idiots to play video games would end soon.  Majority of the games I play, I am lying on the couch, and doing very little hand movement.  Wii Sports and WarioWare I do stand, but that is because I want to feel like I am actually playing tennis and golf.   Many of the mini-games for WarioWare lend themselves well to standing.

Reading forums about games being played on the Wii, you would think I would be running around house, waving my hands around like an idiot trying to play a game.  This has to one of the reason that many people believe that motion control game play is a gimmick.   When will people learn?

They'll learn when they actually play the system, instead of assuming they know the reality about something they've never even experienced.

are you worried that your not being viewed as a "Cool" wii player?

I am a little confused..

bottom line is, playing games is a smidge geeky to begin with. Just the facts

Do I care.. no...  but if I wanted to be all manly.. i would go climb a mountain or dirtbike motorcross or... something.

Be a friggin nerd.. and be proud.  At least your having fun

Playing Wii games sitting on the couch w/little to no movement is pretty stupid imo. imo, the Wii is meant to be played more actively, namely standing up or at least have a good amount of arm swinging. If you're going to play sitting down, you might as well be playing a PS2, Xbox, PS3 or 360. :? (just my opinion)

I partly agree. I think the Wii is more about actively participating in the game, BUT it all depends what game you're playing. For instance there is really no reason to stand while playing Zelda: TP. On the other hand, without standing, WarioWare is incredibly boring.
