SAN FRANCISCO -- The San Francisco 49ers ended negotiations with the city about building a new stadium and plan to move to Santa Clara or somewhere else in California, The Associated Press learned Wednesday night.

Bah, whatever. It would have been nice if they could stay in San Francisco, but it isn't a big deal. They'll be the same team, just in a suburb.
think about it would i want a sucky team for the past ohh i don't know at least 4 years rep my city? i think not, so i see why they are doing it. (will they change the name and colour?)killzone28
You must not have read the article. It is the exact same team, the stadium they'll play in just won't be located inside the San Francisco city limits.
they have tons of history but recenetly theve been crap.
i dont think they should move thought because of the history and all there fans but now its all about money making and what the best chances they have of making money is
why? LA is arguably one of the biggest city in sports right now... other than football Lakers-Its just exciting to watch kobe score 81 MLB-They ahve 2 times dont they? i remember one of them being decent... the angels? College ball-football-TROJANS even without reggie bush and leinart they are still faring well basketball-UCLA. A top 5 seed bound team. detroitpistons0
yeah! wait what?
there is still a chance that they won't move but i can see why they don't want to stay in their stadium now. it is horribleKFrandsen2
Well they have been trying to get a new Staduim for over 5 years now and the city gave the Baseball team one, but they refuse to give their Football team one
If they leave the City of San Francisco blame, the city not the owner and team
The same thing is going to happen in Minnesota eventually also, because they have been trying to get a new staduim for years now and the current one is not profitable and that is why there have been 3 or 4 different owners in the last 10 years or so
