Yes, I shortened the name, not quite as good as OGSNFLUFFL, but it'll do.

So up first we have the Dolphins who need a lot of help. From the Team Needs page we were told the Phins need:
1. OL - tackle or guard
2. DT
3. CB
4. LB
5. TE
6. Safety
7. WR
8. QB

To be honest, I'm a bit surprised that QB is so low, but I guess Parcells would want a QB more than the fans who would like to see John Beck a little bit more.

Now on to the voting:
Jake Long, Michigan - OT - Huge guy, should be a cornerstone for an offense.
Chris Long, Virginia - DE - Would be a great fit for Parcells in the 3-4. Practically unstoppable last year, high motor, good kid. Of course, you know football is in the family with Howie.
Matt Ryan, Boston College - QB - Todd McShay thinks he's a franchise QB, I don't. I think he'll be good, better than Alex Smith as a #1 pick, but won't be oustanding.
Glenn Dorsey, LSU - DT - Unstoppable, even when he was playing on one knee. Great guy off the field. Injury concerns have caused him to drop, of course that could be a smokescreen.

I think Vernon Gholston would be a better fit than Chris Long. With that being said I think the Dolphins should choose Glenn Dorsey. While Matt Ryan sounds nice he is just as unproven as Beck.

Chris Long is a Parcells-type player: high motor, no nonsense.

I understand what your saying he is better fit for the Jets system but generally speaking Gholston fits a 3-4 defense, while Long seems more of a 4-3 defense DE.

I don't think you can go wrong with either Long, but if I had to choose one I'd pick Chris.

Chris Long. They need some depth on that line, since Taylor probably ain't gonna stay. If he does, he won't do good.

I think Ryan is the best player in the draft but the Dolphins have to many holes. Jake Long is probably the best pick for them as an anchor on the left side of the o-line but Chris Long is a great end who can crush QB's. Either Long is a good choice though, but no one player can turn that team around.

either Long or Dorsey would do best. Matt Ryan is good, but QB isnt one of their immediate concerns.

Considering that the only real old guys on the Line are Ferguson JT and Holiday, its not an old unit at all.

Anyway I believe Chris Long would be the pick, we do need a stud DE.

I'm crossing Ryan off the list because I think they should give Beck a chance.

Either Long or Dorsey, I don't think they could make the wrong pick with any of those 3. I'll say take Jake Long, because you need people around your best player, Ronnie Brown, and protection for that young QB, Beck.

I guess I'm the only one that thinks Long is not a good fit in the 3-4.He is not big enough to play on the line and he doesn't have the agility of a 3-4 OLB. :(

Glen Dorsey would also be a horrible in 3-4, Long at least has a chance to do something productive....Dorsey would be a non factor imo.

He would help tremendously in run stopping he would clog up the middle and force teams to the outside which you wouldn't want to do against a 3-4 defense. The only other guy on the poll that would help would be Jake Long.

My pick is Chris Long as well.

*Puts on a Roger Goodell voice*

And with the #1 pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select Chris Long.

DE Chris Long... That's been my guess since Parcells signed-on and I'm sticking to it.

Well I'll look at the people who are a fan of that team, if there aren't any, Espurs and I will choose.
