Most overrated QB= Drew Brees, the guy had ONE great year. NFL history is filled with guys that have had one great year, and none of them get remembered. He needs to prove himself again for me to consider him good.

Most underrated QB= Aaron Brooks, he's very mobile and has a lot of talent, if more than just Joe Horn would step-up, he could get a trip to Hawaii

Overrated: Jake Plummer, he wasn't great at Arizona, now that he's at Denver and had only one good year, he isn't going to be great for two. He was bailed out by great WR's last year, he's not now.

Underrated: Matt Hasselbeck, the only reason why he is underrated is that he would be a premier qb if his WR could actually catch passes.

Holy hell?

Would you like to give a reason?

2 SB MVPs and countless clutch games won almost entirely on his arm.

Who next? Peyton Manning?

Brady's good, but he's not Joe Montana good...You always hear broadcasters WRONGFULLY compare him to when he definitely doesn't have that caliber of talent. I don't think people talk about him and hype him up enough to be overrated, however.

what are you talking about Daunte Culpepper has the most yards last year. Hes doing bad this year because he lost Randy Moss and offensive cordinater Leinhart and his number 1 receiver Nate Burleson has a foot injury.

When Joe Montana says, "Boy, that kid really reminds me of my days in San Francisco" than that means something.

Wow, you guys need to settle down.

When people say a player is overrated, it doesn't mean that they are a bad player. They are just saying that they aren't as good as the media portrays.

Like Tom Brady, statistically, he's overrated. He's not the BEST QB in the NFL. He's the most clutch QB in the NFL, but he's not the best.

It's kind of like this one sportswriter's columb I read somewhere. He stated that Tom Brady was BETTER than Peyton Manning. What is this guy smoking?

Would you like to give a reason? i guess you didn't understand me when i said overrated. What i ment was that everybody says he is such a good QB, i know that he is a two time super bowl MVP and has one three Superbowls. What get's my attention of overrated is that they totally forget that superbowl in between when they didn't make it. and when he asks about it he just walks away, he says "I a great QB, bow down before me." (Exagerateing last sentence) but when asked about Super Bowl XXXVII he just walks away, he won't even admit that he didn't make it that year, that is what ticks my bell.

but hey, at least i didn't say he was underrated like NYJCMarts: That got me laughing

Well, what do you expect? You want him to win a superbowl every year that he starts? 3 out of 4 is still damn good. Tom Brady isn't the best QB in the league, but he's in no way of being overrated.

How is he statistically overrated???

He has a lifetime rating of 87.4

And no one is saying he's the best QB in the league.
He's the second best behind Peyton Manning.

However I would rather have a clutch QB than a QB they throws a ton of TDs, but can't win the big games.

Most Overrated: Tom Brady (he's not great his team is, and the sick offensive line, and the nasty defense)

Tom Brady is neither over or under rated, and calling him that shows your lack of football knowledge, the patriots dont have the greatest players and yet he can help them win 3 out of 4 times, most quarterbacks wont even play in a Superbowl and yet he has won 3 of them, his stats are very good, he doesnt put up Peyton numbers but he still wins games, lots of them, and important ones to.

So far this season, Daunte Culepper is the most overated, cause he cant survive without Moss and this is proof of how average he is and how great Moss is.

The most underated is definently Mark Brunell, his stats are excelent and he is a terrific Steve Young type qb, lefty who is mobile, he has 153 TDs and 93 ints and a career QB rat. of 83.9, and yet people are down rating him into not starting for the Skins when clearly he was the best choice.

That's just not fair.

Brett Favre in his day was amazing.

He just needs to admit its time to turn in his cleets.

MVPs as ive stated before are subjective and worthless way to judge talent .. and see my post in 'underachievers' about all the scrubs that won 1 superbowl.

Theres a big difference between scrubs who were carried by their team and won the superbowl, and Brett Favre who led his team to win it.

People who think Bret Favre is overrated are simply insane.

Oh and I changed my pick for most overrated since Culpepper is now busted up.

Jack Plummer:  He does the same rollout play every game and every team falls for it.
This is by far his best year and he needs to prove himself more before he gets the praise most people are throwing his way.

The only QB who has better stats than him is Dan Marino.

Also Brett Favre embodies what is so great about the NFL.
He is a guy who legitimately has fun when he plays.
You don't have him boo-hooing like TO or Moss.

He's a legend and will easily go to the Hall of Fame.

Drew Bledsoe is a guy who simply isn't a 'winner.'

He puts up great stats, but when the game is on the line he falls apart.

It doesn't help that he's a great guy in real life.   :(

I don't know about Randy.

Hey, does Kurt Warner deserve to start in Arizona after the numbers Josh McCown has played lately.

I mean, is Kurt really that good, Josh really that overrated, or do the WR's manipulate the actual talent of Josh McCown?

Kurt blows.....like really blows.  He had one good year and all of a sudden he thinks he's Joe Montana.  I'd just go with young talent...and Josh has potential.

Randy Moss?  He's clownshoes.
He could have been the greatest WR of all time, but he pissed it all away with his stupidity.

Even if he breaks Rice's record, he isn't half the athlete and role model Jerry Rice is/was.

Warner is awful.  I always thought he was overrated, but now he plain blows.

I think Arizona should give the ball back to Josh and leave it there.

I do agree with you. I don't know why Arizona is going with Kurt Warner. Why take out a young QB that could be your future QB with someone really old whose washed up?

I'm so tired of people saying that...

What are the rest of the players in the NFL doing?  And even the boo-hooers have fun.

By the way, how does Randy "boo-hoo"?

Who would you rather have your kids look up to as a football player?

Brett Favre or Randy Moss.  Case closed.

Depends on what position he wants to play.  I'd take Randy Moss over Favre either way, though.  Favre plays QB with a reckless abandon...something I would not want my kid to replicate.  I'd hope he would chose Peyton Manning or Dan Marino if he was a QB.  And if you don't think Randy's as close to an athlete as Rice, you obviously didn't read about the offseason workout program in Sports Illustrated he's stuck to since he was in the NFL.  But if you were asking me to decide between Rice and Moss for a role model for my kid who wanted to become a WR, I would chose Rice.  By the way, who cares what Randy does off the field???  The majoritiy of the guys that make it to professional sports do some kind of drugs anyways...My kid wouldn't go pro and he'd probably be smart enough to not do drugs for the same reasons I don't do them.  "Favre has fun out there."  They both do.  "Case closed."
