After years of waiting, Atari has finally announced a sequel to the amazing Rollercoaster Tycoon series ... for iphone and ipad
Get hyped !

If they release it on PC (the real deal, not the "tap to collect" crap) I'm so getting it. I still play RCT3!

Same here. I loved RCT1&2 and I still liked RCT3, which was the least liked of the series.
They can make a game in the same graphical style as RCT1&2 for all I care, which wouldn't cost that much money, and I would buy it. If of course it was a proper sequel for PC and not ... well this.
@R4gn4r0k: Yep; I've never played the game for the grpahics, and I'm still playing 3 because it's the only one I still have the cd's for XD It's super addictive and super fun. I really love construction games where you don't have fighting involved and I like to build everything myself, not "drag a rectangle" like Simcity, but there's not many games like that, or at least not many I know. I tried Tropico and it was decent for a few lelvels, but after being hit by 3 tornados, 2 earthquakes and a tsunami in 5 minutes game time I quit =P

I don't know what happened. We used to have a lot of Tycoon games. But they seem to move on to mobile or consoles (zoo tycoon)
The fun in RCT for me always was how creative you could be with your park. I used to make golf courses that went on for hours, absurd kart tracks or rollercoasters that were way too frighting :p
You just had so many freedom in everything you constructed, what theme your park had, every price of every item could be set by you. Fond memories.
The only great Tycoon game we have now on PC is Prison Architect, I would definitely recommend it ;)
@R4gn4r0k: I used to make rollercoasters that nobody would dare go in...huge loses of money but so much fun to ride in, with the Coaster cam....and then the scenic ones everybody loved; I'd make them go through waterfalls, lakes (obviously windowed all around) and past the orcas and the dolphins, right through the middle of animal enclosures (with protective fences, of course), and sometimes through water slides (the excitement rating of both the coaster and the water slide would go through the roof). Also loved doing "water slide coasters" and dump them in a massive pool. I want a new RCT ='(
(Never heard of Prison Architect, but I'll give it a go; thanks for the suggestion)

That sounds awesome ! Didn't play that much of RCT3, I should definitely check it out some more.
My amusement parks would've gone bankrupt thanks to outrageous rollercoaster designs many times, if it weren't for all the money you could loan from the bank.
@R4gn4r0k: Funny, my strategy was the total opposite; it was the loan fees that ruined my finances so my first step would always be to open a pool, which was easily the best money maker in the game, sometimes even more so than the coasters themselves...I played it in € so I don't know it in other currencies but the pool started at 0.50€ but you placed some wave makers, opened a inflatable stall and made a fairly simple slide to start (of course later on I'd turn it into a ride from Hell) and they would gladly pay 12€ to go in; in extreme heat levels I'd had them pay 35€...never really managed to have them pay more than 20€ for a coaster ride (not to mention I could easily have 500 people in the pool at any given time). Afterwards my first step would be to repay the bank loan and then start making my own money =)

I don't remember exactly how well it worked in 3, but in RCT 1&2 you could just loan huge amounts of money, and had to pay back very little. The interest rates were really low.
The way I would make a lot of money in those games, was by having a lot of ads running all the time, that brought a lot of people to my park. Or if some attraction or item was doing really well, jack up the prices, haha
@R4gn4r0k: I'm the other way around; I don't remember 1&2 much, but 3 at least had these huge spreadsheets on satisfaction, ratios, thoughts, money available per costumer, etc etc. You could go really in depth with it =)
@Korvus85: True, oh man, combining the best parts of 1,2 and 3 would make for such an awesome game.
Atari; you heard the man...now get it done!
