Can you get a melware/virus from a shoftware update?

I foolish le update my software in a public wifi spot ( by going into settings and going to the tab about deivce/phone it didn't upgrade the android number ( it's still in the version 4 area not even up by a .1 )

no you can't get viruses from software try to re update your phone or go to android company
